GLOBAL WARMING

WHAT IS GLOBAL WARMING???

Global

warming refers to the current rise in the average temperature of Earth's atmosphere and oceans and its projected continuation. Through emission of harmful gasses.

CLIMATE CHANGE , WATER AND RISK

Climate

change will have a significant impact on the sustainability of water supplies in the coming decades. The study found that more than 1,100 counties -- one-third of all counties in the lower 48 -- will face higher risks of water shortages by mid-century as the result of global warming. More than 400 of these counties will face extremely high risks of water shortages.

CLIMATE CHANGE THRETHNS HEALTH

Climate

change is one of the most serious public health threats facing by the nation, but few people are aware of how it can affect them. Children, the elderly, and communities living in poverty are among the most vulnerable.

SOLUTIONS

STEP 1: SET LIMITS ON GLOBAL WARMI POLLUTION

We

need to build a new energy economy that cuts global warming emissions at least 80 percent by mid-century. By making strong legislation that caps carbon emissions and makes polluters pay for the global warming gases.

STEP 2: INVEST IN GREEN JOBS AND CLEAN ENERGY

Investing

in clean energy industries, such as wind and solar, as well as energy efficiency programs and retooling manufacturing plants can lead us out of crisis and into a new clean energy economy.

STEP 3: CREATE GREEN HOMES ND BUILDING

New

buildings should meet strong new energyefficiency standards that maximize energy savings. Replace all the light bulbs in and around your home with energy-efficient fluorescents that use fewer watts for the same amount of light. Clean or replace your filters monthly. Choose energy-efficient appliances when it's time to buy new ones.

STEP:4 RECYCLING
Buy

recycled paper products and recycle as much of your waste as possible. Bring your own reusable canvas grocery bags when grocery shopping.
