    Gajaraj Dhanarajan

    Emeritus Prof. Gajaraj Dhanarajan, was the founding Vice Chancellor of the new Wawasan Open University and retired from this position in December 2009. He has recently been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Governors. He had previously served as President of Commonwealth of Learning, Vancouver, Canada and CEO of the Open University Hong Kong. He holds the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees from the University of Madras, a D.I.C. and an M.Sc. from the Imperial College of the University of London and a Ph.D. in Biology from the University of Aston in Birmingham, U.K. Raj as he is popularly known has been an advocate for Open and Distance Learning for well over thirty five years and has contributed to global discussions on the subject and further, associated with the work of international development agencies. His current interests include studying and promoting the use of Open Educational Resources in Asia. Date: 24 April 2012 [AAOU 2012, Japan]
