he Scientist. Ever needing to know the manners of nature, Leonardo surpassed many of his contemporaries in the studies of anatomy, zoology, botany, geology, optics, aerodynamics, and hydrodynamics.

Coming in Spring 2008, the Denver Art Museum is honored to present Leonardo da Vinci: Scientist, Inventor, Artist. This will be the collections only North American exhibition. Museum Hours

he Inventor. Ever seeking recompense from his patrons for knowledge gleaned from nature, Leonardo invented new machines and technologies in the fields of engineering, weaponry, and architecture.

he Artist. Ever yearning to create natural perfection in his art, Leonardo applied the lessons of nature and techniques of sfumato, perspective, and chairoscuro to endow humanity with his great drawings and paintings.
