Over the past 3 months Christine Coulson has been volunteering at Fairview School as part of the Learning Buddies program. During this time Christine worked alongside 2 other RDC EUS members to provide academic assistance and hands on support to students ranging from grade two to grade five on a weekly basis. This was a very well planned and executed program, and I am very grateful for the help our students received. Students were excited to participate throughout and the help they received was extremely effective as it was geared towards helping them directly with things they were learning during regular class time. As leaders of this program, these girls collaborated very well together. They did an excellent job to develop relationships and rapport with every student, while helping each student set and achieve individual learning goals. From day one right through to the final day, they encouraged positive relationships between students and created a safe and caring atmosphere for students to take risks and work cooperatively towards success. Not only is Christine an excellent team player she has many individual strengths and professional qualities which contributed to the success of this program. Christine showed up early and stayed late every single week. Each day she showed up ready to help while maintaining a positive attitude. Christines passion towards students and a wide variety of curricular areas is evident. Christine also demonstrated outstanding communication skills which she often used to motivate students to always try their best. I would be honored to work with Christine in the future, and would most definitely recommend her for any future position in the profession of education. If you have any questions or would like to discuss anything further please feel free to contact me at any time.

Most Sincerely, Crystal Noble Grade 2/3 Teacher, Fairview School Email: crystal.noble@rdpsd.ab.ca
