1. Research question:
The aim of this investigation is to find out whether it is harmful to microwave food in plastic containers, because of the possibility that the chemicals in the plastic can leak out of the plastic containers and into the food, thus contaminating the food and harming the person who eats the contaminated food.

2. Hypothesis
The hypothesis is that certain chemicals do leak out of the plastic containers and contaminate the food, which is why it is generally discouraged to microwave food in plastic containers.

1. Conclusion:
It is proven that food container is very dangerous in use with microwave. Chemicals from the food container can leach out into the food which causes cancer, food poison, and much other kind of diseases. When food is put into the plastic container and microwaved, substances which are used to make plastic containers leak into the food and in fatty foods especially like meat or cheese it forms chemical known as diethylhexyl. Even some of the test has proven the migration of the chemicals at temperature that the food container is likely to encounter during ordinary use.
These are the substances which are used to make food containers: Dioxins: they are highly toxic even in lower amount, emitted into the atmosphere cause a damage in ozone layer. Phthalates: it is quite harmful for the animals, it can cause male reproductive problem like can decrease the sperm count.

Bisphenol-A: Pre-cancerous changes in the mammary and prostate glands, altered development of the brain

causing behavioural abnormalities and earlier onset of puberty.

2. Evaluation:
Improvements: The ratio of plastic container surface area to food must be estimated before microwaved. Temperature at which food should get heated should be fully estimated. Only the containers which can pass through a maximum amount of heat without any leakage of chemicals should be allowed to use in microwave. Food should not touch the walls of the plastic container as it is heated in the oven. While heating the food in microwave, food should be covered with something. Food should be heated in metal containers rather than plastic containers.
