Earth Sunday is the day we stand in awe of God's creation and rejoice in how God made our Earth. As we give voice to praise we understand how God made us and our place in creation. "Praise him, sun and moon, praise him, you morning stars; Praise him, high heaven, praise him, heavenly rain clouds; Praise, oh let them praise the name of God--he spoke the word, and there they were! He set them in place from all time to eternity; He gave orders, and that's it!" Psalm 148 The Message Bible.

Adam named creatures brought to him by God, and their names were preserved in human memory and language. The Lord preserved animal life by means of the ark to carry Noah, his family and the created order. The Lord preserved life by the Spirit, when God's Spirit was put on all 'flesh' after Jesus was raised from the dead. We who share this prayer ask God to help us embrace Your vision for preserving all created life and never forget the richness that is your creation. Amen.
