Known Issues and Caveats

Item ID 807 1086 1203 1222 1354 1538 1674 2198 Description When parallel cables exist between two devices, the simulation mode PDUs travel between the cables instead of on the transmitting cable. Packet Tracer 5.1 is not showing the wireless management frames, so it would show the data frames being buffered without seeing any other frames. Linksys router icon looks similar to ISR icon. Multiple switching modules on routers should act as separate "switches" but show as one. "ip ospf network" command is only available on serial interfaces. show interface s0/0/0 - short form of serial not recognized. The round trip times for pings in multiuser networks are very long. This delay is due to the propagation of real TCP packets. In Packet Tracer, ISR routers have 36 maximum VLANs in show vtp status, Layer 2 switches have 255, and 3560 switch has 1005. However, the real devices have different numbers according to device model, not device type. In Physical Workspace, the geoicon labels are sometimes detached from the geoicon itself after navigating between locations. Navigating to a different level and back remedies the issue.
