NITRA an Academic Research Institute Venturing Textile Related Studies NITRA or Northern India Textile Research Association was

established in the year of 1974 with the aim to conduct applied scientific research and extending support services to the Indian textile firms. The institute was established with a joint collaboration of the Indian government and the ministry of textiles. The organization which is one of the leading textile research institutes in India spreads over 50 acre land area at Ghaziabad. The institute has skilled employees for assessing quality, developing product and distributing knowledge in the sphere of textile. NITRA focuses on assisting Indian textile industries by offering excellent inspection, training, distributing knowledge and developing textile products. Job of NITRA: 1. The esteemed organization of NITRA conducts research projects in machine design, development of textile products, process development, and instrument development. The testing and inspection areas of NITRA are equipped with technically advanced instruments to analyze products on the basis of ISO, AADTCC, DIN, ASTM, IS, BS, JASO, EN and similar other standards. 2. NITRA Centre of Excellence or CoE was developed with the active support of the ministry of textiles in 2009. It works by analyzing the quality of a product and developing it, arranging seminars and workshops, training workforce, preparing specifications and standards, testing, and acts as a resource centre by distributing knowledge. 3. The consultancy services of NITRA work for several feasibility studies, technical audits, developing infrastructure, inspection by a third party, energy audit and conservation, commissioning and designing CETPs and ETPs, evaluating asset etc. 4. NITRA conducts several industry-recognized job oriented techno-management training programs on a regular basis on DLP modes to meet the needs of HRD. Besides it also conducts on-shop and off-shop customized training curriculum. It has around 170 technical publications. NITRAs recent launch is its technical campus to cater to the needs of the workforce such as need for an entire textile study chain. The technical campus provides a 4 year B Tech study programs in streams of Computer Science and Textile technology. Besides a 2 year post graduation Diploma in Management in Fashion Retail Management is offered by NITRA technical campus.
