Laying of induction loops in asphalt or concrete

Installation instruction
Generally use milling cutters with depth control stop. Check local conditions prior to milling. Keep the following distances: o o o 0.5 m towards manhole covers, drainage pipes and high-voltage cables min. 1.5 m towards sliding gates min. 1.0 m towards another induction loop

Keep away from expansion joints (loop will be sheared off). The road surface must be dry and the outside temperature must not be below + 5 C. Milled joints must be approx. 6 8 mm wide and 50 mm deep. Corners must be milled diagonally. The joints must be thoroughly cleaned from residue. The loop wire must be laid into the milled joint in several turns (please refer to table below for number of turns. Loop circumference in m 2 4 6 8 10 12 14 number of turns 7-8 6 4-5 4 3-4 3 2-3

Fill the joints completely so that the turns are firmly embedded. The loop turns must not move against each other under agitation. The mains supply of the loop must be twisted at least 20 times per m and must be feed into the main foundation by means of a separate hollow pipe. * Vertical section through road way 6-8 mm Top edge road way 50 mm
