February 27, 2013 To Whom It May Concern I am writing this letter of recommendation for Ashley Busch. I have worked as her site teacher in my sixth grade classroom for the past seven months. This is my 33rd year teaching for Granite School District. Over my years as a teacher, I have completed a Gifted Endorsement, a Masters Degree, and a Technology Endorsement with eMints and Spy Hop Productions. I am currently finishing my last class with Weber to complete an ESL Endorsement. Ashley is the 6th student teacher I have had the opportunity to mentor. Ashley Busch is an easy candidate to recommend. She has demonstrated the ability to take over my 34 sixth grade students very effectively. She is a hard worker who never takes the easy way to a solution. Her love for the students and teaching is evident in all that she does. When faced with a challenge, she works hard to accomplish her goal. Classroom management can often be a weakness for student teachers. It has not been one for Ashley. Instead, it is one of her strengths. Her previous experience working with groups of students is clearly evident. She possesses a wide variety of tools when working with students. As her site teacher, Ashley has required minimal scaffolding for her to be successful in our classroom. It has felt like working with a peer instead of a student teacher. Her expertise and knowledge have supported the learning in our numerous areas. Her training and expertise in reading intervention has even supported the aids working at our Title 1 School. In addition, she has happily served on our Professional Learning Committees twice a month, attended monthly faculty meetings and school wide bi-monthly collaborations. As a Title 1 School we completed 3 professional learning days for training in Unwrapping the Standards and writing Common Formative Assessments. She willingly attended these trainings to learn and acquire the expertise. This in itself tells so much about this fine young student teacher. Ashley Busch has my highest recommendation as a candidate for any position being considered. I cannot imagine a more qualified recipient, than my excellent student teacher.
