Objectives
To encourage employees to bring ethical and legal violations they are aware of To minimize organization's exposure to the damage that can occur when employees circumvent internal mechanisms To let employees know the organization is serious about adherence to codes of conduct

Strengths
It makes top management aware about the minute details of the functioning of the company Gives every employee more confidence feels he is a part of the company

Weakness
The officers overseeing the complain brought by whistleblower may have personal interest in not acting on the complain The officer himself might be involved in the corrupt practices, against which the whistleblower has made complains

Commitment of the company


The committee should be independent and should not have family members of the company In this company most of the family members are on the top positions; appointing any family member to oversee such affairs might dilute the policy

Protection to the whistleblower


Policies to be explained more clearly - regarding the actions which an employee can take if threatened by senior officers Actions which they can take in such cases has not been mentioned in this policy

Procedures
Should be made clear to employees at each level Programs to be conducted to make every employees aware about this policy Awareness program about the procedure to lodge a complain missing in this policy

Investigation
The exact procedure of the investigation must be present in the policy The authority that is provided to the compliance officer should be clear so that he can act independently The access to all the relevant documents

Guarding Unfounded Complaints


No clear procedure or guideline has been specified to take action against false allegations This makes the whistleblower skeptical about raising voice

Tone of the company


The founders are reluctant to adopt new policies The interlinked management can lead to conflict of interest and internal conflicts which further results in a weak tone

Reward
Their should be some reward for the whistlebowers
