What is Greek Tragedy

Greek tragedy is a form of theatre art from ancient Greece and other parts of the world . It reached its most significant form in Athens. Greek tragedy is an extension of the ancient rites done in honor of Dionysus the god of wine. And it also put a big impact on the world, such as the theatre of Ancient Rome and the Renaissance. The bases of tragic plots were often myths treated in the oral traditions. In tragic theatre, however these scripts were presented by actors. The most important authors of Greek tragedies are Aeschylus, Sophocles and Euripides.

What Equipment Did Greek Tragedy Involve!


Greek tragedy involved helmets to act out war and they also used masks to shape out what the gods would look like in their perspective. And sometimes even act without a mask. And they would

sometimes be the hero but with tragic endings.
