Christian Preschool in Cornwall, Prince Edward Island. I have recently been hired as the Coordinator of Childcare for the PEI Federation of Foster Families annual symposium and AGM. This role requires me to hire qualified staff that will plan, set up and execute an 8 hr. day for the children whose parents attend the event. There are various needs, ages and situations of the children enrolled. Some come from biological homes; some come from less fortunate situations. Jenny Duffy was one of the people that I had hired to provide childcare for this event and to say that I was pleased with her work would be an understatement. Not only did she come prepared with her own materials to add to the space, she showed great professionalism and confidentiality required for the day. She executed a great day and the room (which was made up of mixed ages up to the age of 4 years old) was calm, happy and well programmed and I was truly impressed. I've been in the field of Early Childhood Education for almost 20 years and I know an excellent educator when I see one. Aside from the quality care that Jenny provided, I also noticed and appreciated her ability to work with others as a team. The personalities that were present were not always easy and yet Jenny was able to rise above the strain of working along side someone who proved to be difficult and remain calm, friendly and professional.
