To Whom It May Concern: I worked with Tasha Woolley as her site teacher during her student teaching at M.

Lynn Bennion Elementary. Tasha has shown that she will be a great asset to the teaching profession. She has developed many characteristics of a great teacher- good organizational skills, well prepared lessons, and good classroom management. Tasha has gained experience working with many students of diverse backgrounds. Many of these students do not come from families where English is the native language and are English language learners. Bennion has a very transient population where new students come and go frequently. Some of these students were from the Y.W.C.A. (women abuse center). Her classroom management was always positive and consistent. Tasha successfully developed her own lessons for both math and language arts that met the core and fit the individual students' needs. She created learning center activities to help the students review their math skills in preparation for the end of year testing. She used hands-on activities in her centers. For example, she used tiles to help the students learn about the distributive property of numbers, a dice game for equal groups of multiplication and had them measure objects found in the classroom. She developed several social studies projects where she integrated her lessons with the language arts writing core. As a service learning project, she had the class create books based on the concept of rights and responsibilities then shared the books with the kindergarteners. For a persuasive letter writing activity, she had the students write letters to her aunt who is a teacher in Scotland about why Utah was a great place to live. Tasha made every effort to expand her knowledge so she could be the best teacher possible. She went to the weekly school faculty meetings, attended the monthly collaboration meetings with both the language art and math coaches, went to the Fall District Conference. a social studies conference. and a technology workshop. As Tasha's supervising teacher, I feel that Tasha would be an excellent candidate for a classroom teacher. Please feel free to call me for any additional information concerning Tasha and her student teaching experience. Mrs. Mugleston
