Dal Palak, A lovely dish. I love dal.

But whenever I get bored of eating this regular dal I make dal palak curry. Very easy to cook. I absolutely love making this dish and so i make it very often. Very healthy, nutritious and delicious :) Here is the recipe of Dal Palak: Masoor dal - 1 cup Palak -1 Big Bunch 1 big onion finely chopped 1 big tomato- finely chopped 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste Green Chillies 2 Cumin seeds - 1 tsp Red Chilli Powder- 1 tsp Corriander powder - 2 tsp Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Garam masala 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp Oil - 2 tbsp Salt - to taste Lemon Juice 1tsp Dried Red Chilly 1 Method: First cook dal with sufficient water (2 cups) and keep it aside. Heat oil in a pan, add the cumin seeds, when it splutters add dried red chilly. Add chopped onions and ginger garlic paste. Saute till the onions turn translucent. Now add chopped tomatoes and fry till soft and mushy. Now add all spices along with green chillies. Add the chopped palak and saute until it reduces in volume. Add cooked dal to the above mixture and add salt to taste.

Add water according to your gravy consistency. Add lemon juice and mix well. Simmer for 5-8 minutes on low flame Serve hot with chapathis or rice.
