January 22, 2013 Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Allison Hawkins and I will be student teaching in your childs English/Language Arts class this semester. I am currently a senior at the University of Illinois working towards my teaching certification and a degree in English and Secondary Education.

In picking options for student teaching, Urbana Middle School was my number one choice! While most Secondary Education students are interested in teaching high school, my interests are in middle school. I am confident my passion for the subject and training in the classroom will allow me to pass on my knowledge to your students. I, with Miss Jacksons support, have high goals for the semester and am ready to work hard with your student to accomplish them.
