Gorgeous Geek Chapter L: Greener On The Other Side

Chapter L: Greener On The Other Side

All of that happened today? gasped Jennifer, hearing the news from Eunice. It was after school. The Asian Gossip Girls were sitting around in their usual area, talking about everything that happened today. First, Jordan Greene only came for one period and then left. Second, Jin Song spread his name with his new signature pose. Third, Cash Grahams fell down a flight of stairs and hurt his leg. Wendy Wilshire and Jezebelle Tilly left with him to the hospital. Fourth, Roselle Young seemed to have been bullied without anyone noticing until fifth period due to her breakup with Jordan Greene. Fifth, Jin Song and Rin Hamada ran off together at the start of sixth period. You don't look too happy Tiffy, said Jennifer, concerned for her leader. Tiffany picked up her eyes and shook her head. I'm fine. I'm just thinking. I see, said Jennifer, tilting her head. For the third girl, she sat down and laid her head on Jennifer's shoulder. What is going on here? Why now? I don't know Eunie, said Jennifer, frowning. So much drama. I wonder if Kristian's okay. Why don't you ask Kristian himself? asked Tiffany suddenly, indicating at the Japanese boy hurrying toward the front gate. Kristian! screamed Jennifer, gaining his attention. Eunice pushed Jennifer, demanding why she did that. Kristian came up to them with a blank look on his face. Did you hear about Jin Song and Rin Hamada skipping school together? Jen! said Eunice in disbelief. How could she blurt something out so easily? I heard about it, said Kristian, shrugging. Whatever. It's none of my business. You really don't care? asked Jennifer, shocked. She must have her reason, said Kristian, walking up to Tiffany instead. Hey Tiffy Taffy. Are you going to be at the JV and Varsity football games today? I'll be there, said Tiffany, checking the time on her cell phone. Why? No reason, said Kristian, smirking at her. He went on his way and waved back to them over his shoulder. See you later Asian Gossip Girls. All three of them were speechless. Kristian was perfectly normal, even though it was his girlfriend that ran off with Jin. Eunice was so dumbfounded that Jennifer had to pinch her to bring life back into her. As those two talked it over, Tiffany was in her own world. She thought it was too much of a coincidence that all of these things were happening at once. Could it be that they were all related somehow?

I'm going, said Tiffany suddenly, standing up. Where to Tiffy? asked Jennifer curiously, stopping herself from tickling Eunice. I want to talk to Grim about all the news today, said Tiffany, closing her notebook and calling her cell phone instead. I have a feeling that if I present the news in front of him, he can figure something out. She's obsessed over these rumors, said Eunice blankly, watching Tiffany leave. Of course she is! cried Jennifer, wiping the dust off her purse. This has to do with Jin so she has to figure out why he and Rin Hamada suddenly decide to become delinquents all of a sudden. Eunice bobbed her head in understanding. Jennifer frowned at her friend. Aren't you curious at all Eunie? Kristian might be related. I'm not good at these things, said Eunice sadly. All I can do is hope he'll be all right. He seems fine so... Have you been fighting with your parents again Eunie? asked Jennifer, concerned. Eunice blinked. Not necessarily... They'll be mad if they find out you like Kristian right? I can see that, said Eunice honestly, rocking back and forth. But it's my choice, not theirs. Smiling, Eunice bounced up to her feet. I'm going to go and take some photographs of the football team before the football games. Okay! said Jennifer, waving after Eunice. Then, Jennifer frowned at the thought of Faith not really being a man biologically. I know my parents will disapprove of my crush if they know as well... ********************************************** Jordan! Jin? asked Jordan, turning around with wide eyes. Jin tackled Jordan from behind. What are you doing here? With sparkling eyes, Jin muttered, It's because it's our special place. Of course, I knew you'll be hiding here. Jin... said Jordan, bursting into tears. Jordan... said Jin, squeezing Jordan harder from behind. Please come back... please don't leave me all alone with that evil, selfish Fi... I'll never leave you again! cried Jordan, returning Jin's embrace. And that is how it should go, said Rin, hugging herself at her storytelling at Jin, who was too busy concentrating on driving and looking out onto the streets for any sign of Jordan or his car. Rin glared at him. Are you even listening to me Jin? Sort of, said Jin honestly, checking the streets still. But even for a yaoi fantasy Rin-chan, that is pretty out of character. Rin rolled her eyes. How? First of all, I will never call Fi evil or selfish... I just wanted to say that! And second of all, said Jin, sighing. There were no signs of Jordan or his car on this street either. Jordan doesn't like to be hugged at all. Oh and

there's no special place where Jordan and I hang out either. You have to ruin it, said Rin, pouting. She was sad now. My perfect image destroyed and- Rin paused, blinked, and gasped loudly. Jin glanced at her once before he returned his eyes to the road. Oh my goodness! What's going on now? You corrected three things I said that you believe are out of character. Er... yeah? asked Jin, uncertain now. With a smirk on her lips, Rin revealed, But you did not correct me about the gayness! You didn't tell me off for saying things 'please come back' and 'I'll never leave you again'! I knew it. Rin snapped her fingers. You just admit to being homosexual Jin! There's nothing wrong with wanting a friend back, said Jin, laughing under his breath in amusement at Rin's imagination. And if I do find him, of course I'll tell him to come back with us. Maybe I should have told you my hentai version instead, said Rin, pouting. Jin lifted a brow. No thank you. I'll draw it instead then... Er... Rin-chan... said Jin, glancing at her several times worriedly. We're not on some adventure. You shouldn't be so carefree about this. Jordan's life might be at stake. Life? asked Rin, laughing now. Jin groaned. What the heck are you talking about? He's probably just ditching school to hang out at the mall or- He left a note that he was not coming back home... Rin stopped laughing and thought about it. Come on, Jin. Think rationally. What do you think he'll do? Jump off a cliff? Drown himself? Get into a car accident and leave his heart behind for his lover dying of cancer in some hospital? Have you been watching Korean Dramas lately? asked Jin, sighing. No, but Kristian does, said Rin, offended. Really? asked Jin, gaping at Rin. Kristian does? You don't believe me do you? asked Rin, annoyed. Well, he does. He watches all of them. There isn't a single Korean drama made in the past six years that he hasn't watched yet. His mother is a drama addict so he became one too. Japanese dramas too? Rin thought about it. Yes, he watches those too. My image of Kristian has been completely shattered, said Jin, shaking his head. His mother and female cousins watched them too. Jin admitted that he cried bucketfuls for a certain Winter Sonata but that was about it. Anyways, shouldn't you call him or something? What happen to being considerate of other people's feelings? Rin frowned. I don't want to call him though... it's embarrassing... Just call him Rin-chan. You can't ditch school and not let him know. Fine, said Rin, taking out her cell phone. She thought about what Jordan told her yesterday and typed him a quick text message. After she sent

it, she returned her attention to Jin. Happy now? I told him that I was going somewhere with you. I don't want there to be any misunderstanding between Kristian and I, said Jin sternly. Rin rolled her eyes. At least, you can call Kristian. I can't even do that with Fi. She refuses to give her phone number to me. Why don't you ask one of her friends? I tried, said Jin defensively. They all told me she forbid them. Nodding in understanding, Rin jumped at her cell phone vibrating. She checked to see that she received a text message from Kristian, saying thanks for telling him. He even put a heart at the end of his text message which made Rin feel all fuzzy. Somewhat touched, Rin flushed bright red and hugged her cell phone to her chest. Jin lifted a brow at her. Once Rin realized Jin caught her doing that, she tried to act cool. I love my cell phone that's all, said Rin stubbornly. Right, said Jin, trying hard to smile. Even though he was making small talk with Rin, his mind was set on Jordan. He couldn't stop thinking of the boy. I'm glad you guys made up. Jordan was so set on helping you guys. Rin widened her eyes. Really? Yeah, he told me so. That Jordan... said Rin with a timid smile on her face. I think I can be friends with him after all. He's a really great person, said Jin agreeably. A bit emotional but that's it. I suppose... said Rin, uncertain. She poked Jin and pouted again. What should I say back to Kristian? I'm not good at this so help me, Jin. I'm not your girlfriend, said Jin, insulted. Tell me! Jin sighed. If it were Fi and I, I would say 'I love you Fi'. At that suggestion, Rin cringed. How cheesy and so very like you Jin. You have no sense of pride or embarrassment, do you? Those words though are... so... not like me. Jin nodded in agreement hastily. I swear, if I type that message to Kristian, his response will be like 'Who is this? And why did you steal Rin-chan's cell phone?'. Rin shook her head sadly. Besides, I can never type or say anything like that to him. Why not? asked Jin even though his eyes were elsewhere. Rin sighed. Because... then he'll think of me as his fangirl or something. Why would he think like that? You're his girlfriend, not his fangirl. His ego is big enough as it is, said Rin, shaking her head. Once I tell him I love him to his face or in a message, he'll just make fun of me. He'll think I need him. I don't need him like that. It's not like I'm obsessed over him like his previous girlfriends. You're overthinking it, said Jin immediately. You need to be more straightforward, Rin-chan. If you love him, say it. If you want to see him, say it. You don't have to keep hiding your feelings like that. He's not a psychic. He can't read your thoughts.

What should I type? asked Rin, interrupting Jin's speech. Jin knew Rin wouldn't listen. She was stubborn like that. Type something like... asking how he's doing right now. Since you're off with me, you should show that you're still thinking of his well-being. Fine, said Rin, giving in. She typed something quickly. Done. That was way too fast. I only typed 'how are you'. Jin dropped his head before he remembered that he was driving and picked it up quickly. That's not exactly what I mean Rin-chan... Too late, said Rin, wrapping her arms in front of her chest. I already sent it. Before Jin could say anything, Rin received a message so she checked it quickly. It didn't take her long before she growled and muttered to herself, What is that supposed to mean? Stupid Kristian. What did he say? asked Jin curiously. He only said a single word. Which is? Rin scowled. Naked. Maybe he's sleeping naked? asked Jin, also confused by his message. No, Jin, said Rin, smacking her forehead with her hand. One, Kristian doesn't sleep naked. He sleeps half-naked. Jin grinned at her in which she glared at him, warning him to keep his mouth shut. Two, he's running errands for his Uncle so he shouldn't be naked... anywhere. Why does everyone I know sleep half-naked these days? asked Jin to himself. Jordan sleeps with only his boxers on. Now, it was Rin's turn to give him the look. Jin frowned. It came up in a conversation over dinner at my place between Fi, Jordan, Shuijin, and I. You cooked for Jordan before? asked Rin, not caring that Jin mentioned both Jezebelle and Shuijin's names as well. I did... Rin smirked. How cute. So you're the wife and he's the husband. I can see that. Wait what? Nothing, said Rin, giggling to herself. What should I type back to Kristian now? Figure it out yourself! cried Jin, shaking his head. My stomach is hurting so much right now. I'm worried sick for Jordan because I have a feeling that he's going to do something terrible and all you can talk about is your relationship, Rin-chan. Right, said Rin apologetically. I shouldn't be self-centered. I shouldn't be self-centered. I shouldn't be self-centered. You don't have to repeat it three times, said Jin, feeling guilty. And for what you should say to Kristian, I have no idea. Just type 'what' or something similar. Done, said Rin, beaming. That was fast, said Jin with wide eyes. At the sight of Rin waiting anxiously for the next message, Jin smiled in

satisfaction at her before he turned his head to the road. Since he checked all the major streets around the school with no sign of Jordan or his car, Jin thought about contacting Frida, Victoria, and Bailey and then splitting up the area in search of Jordan. With this in mind, Jin pulled the car over for a bit so he could call Frida. He's making fun of me for sending slow messages, said Rin in a cute whiny voice. Jin lifted a brow at her. Did he explain what he meant by 'naked' earlier? No... said Rin, angry now. She typed a quick message to him. Stupid Kristian! Hello? asked Jin once the person on the other line picked up. Yeah. It's me. Hey Frida. How are you? While Jin continued on his conversation with Frida, Rin gawked at him. He sounded like he knew the other girls of the Populars really well. Rin was amazed. In such a short time period, he seemed to not only become besties with Jordan, but with Frida and Victoria too. Then again, Rin wasn't too surprised. Ever since they were young, it had always been like this. Everyone would want to be Jin's friend. He was the boy who would be one of the firsts to be picked in kickball or basketball while she the last. Everyone wanted to be partners with Jin for everything. They wanted to be in Jin's group. As for her, they only really talked to her if they needed help with homework. She was used. He was loved. At last, Rin felt her phone vibrate again. This time, Kristian sent a long message, explaining what he meant by naked earlier. After reading his explanation, Rin wished she didn't ask. It was already enough that she had to stop his advances in person. Why must she have to stop them through text messages too? Meanwhile, on the other end of the conversation, Kristian was hard at work as he went around, serving drinks to his customers at the bar. He kept checking his cell phone for a text message from Rin, but it seemed she stopped talking to him after he wrote that descriptive message about him thinking of her naked. Right now, even if he had to endure the stench of this place, he was in bliss. Rin texted him first, not the other way around. This was enough to make his day even if he kept thinking of her being in Jin's car. It's okay, Kristian-sama, said Kristian, picking up empty glasses from a deserted table. He licked his lips tastefully. After all, how can Jin Song beat a diamond ring? Suddenly, his cell phone vibrated again. Rin got over his horniness and continued texting him. Content, Kristian returned her messages twice her speed. ******************************************************* For a long time, Wendy just sat outside of the hospital room without saying a single word. She was so down that any nurse or doctor that passed by her didn't say anything either. From the look on her face alone, it seemed like

someone important to her just passed on recently. In the middle of her slump, Jezebelle came back with a bottle of water. What? asked Jezebelle, noticing Wendy looking up at her from her seat. I wasn't going to get you any, even if you asked. I wasn't expecting you to, said Wendy softly. You look horrible. Wendy rolled her eyes. Thanks Leader. I needed that. Sure thing, darling, said Jezebelle, walking up to the door and looking inside quickly. It looks like he'll be in crutches for a while. At least, it's nothing serious. I know... said Wendy, still down. I heard about what happened, said Jezebelle suddenly. Wendy lifted a brow. All thanks to you too. Why did you have to lie and tell him I was getting together with Jordan? This never would have happened if you didn't stick your nose in other people's business again! It's all your damn fault... damn it. Guilty people like to blame others don't they? asked Jezebelle cruelly. Whatever, said Wendy, punching her own hand. You're not here because you care. You're here because you want to skip school. You accomplished that. Happy? Very, said Jezebelle in agreement. Then, she sat down next to Wendy. I heard you picked Cash up and carried him all the way to the nurse. What of it? You're really fucking strong. Paling slightly, Wendy shook her head. It was an emergency. I had to do it. What are you exactly? asked Jezebelle, leaning back and looking up at the ceiling. The first time I ever met you, I didn't think much of you except a useful, vengeful puppet for my schemes. Wendy allowed a short laugh at Jezebelle's honesty. But as time went on, I realized that you're actually really strong. I saw you crush things with your hands that most normal girls wouldn't be able to. You shouldn't be the one complimenting me, said Wendy under her breath. I'm not, said Jezebelle, acting surprised. I never compliment anyone other than myself but you already know that. What do you want then? asked Wendy weakly, keeping her head low. Nothing really. I'm just impressed that I have a female wrestler in my group. I'm not a female wrestler, said Wendy angrily. I'm a... punk... Jezebelle rolled her eyes. I already knew that. Say something that I don't know. That used to get into a shit load of trouble with the police and other grown ups back in middle school, said Wendy with a sigh. I was a street tagger as well as the leader of multiple biker gangs. Multiple, said Jezebelle to herself. Shit. I was slightly off.

I was the kind of daughter who would disappear for days to sleep over at her boyfriend's house every time I get into a fight with my Dad, said Wendy, twisting her spiky bracelet around her wrist nervously. Of course, all that crap is in the past now. Your boyfriend, said Jezebelle, holding her nose high up. What ever happen to him? You dump him or he dump you? We never broke up. Jezebelle widened her eyes. Oh my. A cheat. No, said Wendy, shaking her head. Her blonde hair was into her eyes now. We didn't have a chance to break up before he left me behind... forever. You liked him or something? asked Jezebelle, trying hard to show concern for the other girl. That's the worst part of it, said Wendy in a whisper. I didn't. Jezebelle gasped. Then why feel bad about it? Unlike you, said Wendy, picking her head and gazing at the girl. I have a conscience. When a guy took a bullet for me, I can't just act like nothing happen can I? Does it matter whether I have feelings for him or not? Guilt, said Jezebelle, giggling after a period of silence. What a pitiful emotion. Jezebelle checked her hair and smiled to herself. You're feeling it right now aren't you? Indicating at the door, Jezebelle smirked. Isn't he on Varsity? Sure, our basketball team sucks but I can't believe they're going to lose even before they start. Shut the fuck up, said Wendy, pulling her hair slightly. Leave me alone. Maybe people who like you end up curse or dead or something. Then, I hope you end up dead or cursed, said Wendy irritably. Unaffected, Jezebelle replied, Thank God I never liked you. For a while, Wendy didn't say anything. She just kept brooding to herself on that bench while Jezebelle went around the hospital and chatted with various boys around the area. The sight sickened Wendy so much that she went inside and sat next to Cash's bedside. Watching Cash rest quietly, Wendy thought about Zack again and dropped her head near his side. I was honestly so scared... said Wendy, taking in deep breaths. If something were to happen to you... like what happened to Zack... I... don't know what I do... Hey... said Cash, shaking her shoulder lightly. If I can get over it by now, you can too. There's nothing to feel scared or bad about. Looking up, Wendy tried to smile optimistically at Cash. It's just that whenever a boy likes me, something bad always happens to him. Stupid isn't it? Even if that's true, said Cash, closing his eyes and smiling. It's worth it. What? asked Wendy, laughing at him now. You're such a fruitcake. Since I can't walk for a while without crutches, said Cash innocently, wrapping his arms behind his neck. I'll have to bother the great Wendy

Wilshire to get me some fruits. How about a banana? Wendy pulled Cash's pillow from under his head and smacked him with it. I'll go and get your fruit. Be back in a sec. Hey Wendy, said Cash quickly, stopping on her way out. Yeah? asked Wendy, opening the door. Cash waved at her. Don't worry too much about it. Don't blame yourself either. As long as you're fine, said Wendy, glancing at her shaking hand on the doorknob. As long as you're alive, everything will be all right. Yeah... After closing the door behind her, Wendy held her hands to her rapidly beating chest and took in deep breaths. Suddenly, in the middle of that conversation, she thought of Jordan Greene. She had no idea why. Why did she think of that loser at a time like this? Even though she should be more concerned about Cash and his leg, she couldn't help but want to know what was going on with Jordan right now. Because like Jezebelle suspected, one of the reasons why she couldn't say yes to Wendy was because of Jordan's face and words when he told her that she shouldn't be with Cash. At the memory, Wendy punched the nearby wall. What was that idiot doing now? Surely, he couldn't be thinking of... ******************************************************* At one of the tables, two blonde girls who were testing each other on geography location for their upcoming class in a few hours when they kept glancing at the immobile hottie nearby. He had been standing in that exact same spot for the past couple of hours. The only reason they even noticed him was because he was good-looking and young. I wonder which college he's from, said one of them. Not from ours, that's for sure, said the other. He doesn't look eighteen or nineteen though. Maybe he looks younger than he is? Who knows. Despite these two girls talking about him, Jordan did not notice. He was too busy reading the last part of the book in his hands. At last, he closed the book and released a purr of happiness. It had been a while since he reread this classic. This brought back fond memories for him. He just had to pick it up and read part of this book again after he saw the title flashing before his eyes in the middle of shelf. It is a far, far thing that I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest that I go to, than I have ever known, quoted Jordan, placing the book carefully back in the shelf. Then, he noticed the time on the clock nearby. It was fifteen minutes past four o'clock. Holy shit. How long have I been here? Wandering the library, Jordan searched for some travel books now and frowned at what he found. He decided after skimming through some books and brochures that he liked to live here the best. Everywhere else seemed like such a bother.

Sighing, Jordan thought about what he should do from now on. At the last minute, he decided to run away from home. He didn't want to live with his sister and that horrible brother-in-law anymore. However, if he had to live on his own from now on, he had to find a place to live and a way to financially support himself for housing and food. In other words, this meant that he had to drop out of high school and get a job. For something that he decided out of impulse, frustration, and rebelliousness, he was seriously thinking about pursuing this path. Outside of the library now, Jordan ate the takeout Chinese food he ordered a while ago that he forgot to eat earlier. If anyone from school caught him eating such unhealthy food, everyone would know about it. If anyone from school caught him going to the library to read books, everyone would know about it. Jordan sighed. He felt like a celebrity being stalked wherever he went. Though, for the first time today, he didn't get that feeling today. Maybe it was because everyone he knew was in school instead? What to do... said Jordan, looking around the area. Where should I go now... Checking his turned off cell phone, Jordan nearly fell off the bench he was sitting on. How could this be? He got like a million voice mail messages and text messages. However, Jordan didn't check any of them. Instead, he shut off his phone and stood up with a firm look on his face. From now on, he was not going to contact any of his friends anymore. He was going to start a new life as an independent boy. Look at that hottie, said some girls nearby, staring at him. Sighing, Jordan quickly went to his car and wore a hat on. He was wary of love now. Actually, he was wary of relationships period. Roselle dumped him for no reason at all. For the first time, he felt like he was actually doing everything right in a relationship. More than that, Roselle was tough enough to stay strong in the face of all his admirers. Yet, yesterday, she told him she couldn't take it anymore and left him like that. Out of nowhere too. Even though Jordan had no feelings as a lover for her, he was hurt nevertheless. Roselle... said Jordan, placing his head on the wheel. Why... Right then, his cell phone started ringing. Jordan jumped in fear. He thought he turned it off, but instead, he realized he only closed it shut. Sighing again, he checked the phone number to see who it was this time. At the sight of the familiar name, Jordan picked up immediately. He couldn't stop himself. Roselle... said Jordan into the phone. Hello Jordan. She sounded too normal for comfort. Hey... Where are you? asked Roselle casually. Somewhere. Why did you leave behind such a note? Thinking about it, Jordan said in a low voice, Because I'm serious about it. Jin and the others are looking for you right now. They are? Why?

Obviously, they're worried about you. For a few seconds, Jordan didn't say anything. He dropped his eyes. After he decided to leave his house forever, he already made plans in his head for himself. There was no way he was returning back home. First of all, he was going to pretend to be a college student and then share rooms with some boys. Within that month, he was going to find a job to pay off the monthly rent. Once his income was stable, he was going to return to community college to become a nurse since that would only take two years or so. The pay was good too. Afterwards, he was going to make enough money to find Victoria and take her away from her house of poverty. They were going to elope and live happily ever after. All of that went through his mind on his drive to the library after he left for third period after his first course of action. Suicide. Jordan thought about it again. When he first left the house, he wanted to commit suicide but after that conversation with Jin in third period, he didn't have the heart to anymore. Instead, he was going to live as an independent man who was going to live and work for himself for a while. In his head, this seemed like a sound plan since one, his sister already paid off the payment on his car and two, he could grow as a person. Like he read in books, he needed to be out in the real world to become an adult. They are, are they? asked Jordan weakly. Why would they be worried about an insignificant person like me? Now, that is pointless. Roselle growled at him on the other line now. Stop saying such stupid things! That's why they think you might do something stupid! Like what? asked Jordan, chuckling darkly. Slit my throat? Yes! Exactly! If I had the guts to do that, said Jordan in a low tone. I would have done it long ago... Roselle was speechless. I should have done it long ago. I wouldn't have to burden my parents like this. Burden your parents? Jordan bit his bottom lip. I was born at the wrong time. My parents were supposed to go on a cruise for their upcoming retirement but instead, they had to spend all that money on me instead. Oh right. You were born late. Nodding, Jordan continued, They fought a lot because of me. Mom kept saying things like how I was expensive and how she shouldn't have kept me. Dad kept saying things like how they would have a lot more money without me. They both said... Jordan stopped and laughed. That I ruined their lives. They're awful parents then! cried Roselle, upset. They're right though, said Jordan quickly. I did ruin their lives. I ruined my sister's life too. She should have been able to move on to that university in England and become a professor. Instead, she had to change her plans because she knew it was her duty to take care of me once my parents retired. Unlike my parents, she never hated me for it. Jordan... Wait, no, said Jordan, chuckling. She probably does. She just doesn't want to say it to my face.

I don't know about that Jordan. Anyways, I've been leeching off my parents and sister for too long already, said Jordan bravely. Since I don't have the guts to kill myself, I'll continue life on my own without bothering people around me anymore. I don't want to hurt my girlfriends. I don't want to hurt my friends. I don't want to hurt my family. Jin stopped and added, I don't want to hurt Jin. This is why I can't come back. You're not thinking rationally, said Roselle. How are you supposed to live on your own? You're only a teenage boy. You have to live with your sister for now. I've decided, said Jordan, turning on the engine. I'm going to leave everything behind and start over. A new life. Tell everyone to forget about me. Tell them I'm dead somewhere. Tell Jin that I- Jordan stopped himself in time. No, nevermind. That you love him? Jordan's eyes popped open. No... You love him, don't you? That's silly. He's a boy. So? asked Roselle loudly. What's wrong with that? You don't understand, Roselle, said Jordan, shaking slightly. My brother-in-law is really strict with me. He always calls me a good-for-nothing kid whenever my sister is not around. He hurts me all the time. Other boys always avoid making friends with me because I attract girls. They would ignore me for days on times in elementary and middle school. And that's why... Jordan sighed. I'm homophobic. I can't stand men. And more than that, I can't stand men kissing and touching. Again, so what? You don't get it Roselle? I can't love Jin. He's a man. I can't see myself doing any of those naughty things to him. It's just plain wrong. Suddenly, Roselle made a loud noise in the phone that made Jordan jump back in his seat. However, Jordan bravely picked up the phone and held it an inch away from his ear this time. Roselle was obviously mad at him. Is that what love is to you, Jordan Greene? screamed Roselle. Sex? Jordan blinked. No... It's not! It's more than just sex! Roselle? Roselle wasn't listening. She went on, You may not want to have sex with Jin but you love him right? Is that so wrong? Who says that you have to be homosexual, bisexual, or heterosexual? Why must we be restricted to a category? You're either that or you're not. That's what everyone keeps telling us but that's not right. Why does it matter? Do you have to love and sleep with the same person? The same gender? No! Roselle, calm down, said Jordan, worried for the other girl. I'm a writer Jordan, said Roselle in a calmer tone now. You can trust my advice on this. You told me to observe you and Jin right? I came to this conclusion and I was going to tell you this last night but of course, you didn't

come! Jordan flushed. I had a huge fight with my brother-in-law and- It doesn't matter! I just told you your answer right now anyways! Wait, said Jordan quickly. What is it again? The half-Native American groaned loudly before she said, You love Jin Song! Got it? Wait a minute, said Jordan, frustrated. I like to sleep with girls! You like to sleep with girls but you're in love with a boy name Jin Song! Shaking his head, Jordan accidentally closed his phone. Despite this, Jordan didn't care. He didn't want to talk to Roselle anymore. She was messing with his head. What was he supposed to do now? He was all ready to leave this rotten lifestyle behind and start a new life. With this news though, his mind went blank. No, it was impossible. He had never read of anything like this before. How could someone want to sleep with one sex and have feelings for another sex? What was Roselle thinking? How could she come to such an inconceivable conclusion? That's it, said Jordan, starting the engine. I'm going to the beach. I'm surfing. On his way to the beach, Jordan tried to not think of what had been bugging him for these past few weeks. He had been questioning his own feelings, his own thought process, and his own relationships with everyone around him. Not only was he a bother to his parents, he was a bother to everyone else. Roselle was better off without him. His friends were better off without him. The school was better without someone like him. His sister and brother-in-law were better off without him. Actually, the world was better without him. Now that there was a possibility that he had feelings for Jin, Jin was better off without someone as creepy as him. I don't deserve to live but I can't find a suitable way to die either, said Jordan to himself, gazing out at the ocean to his right. That's right. I need to get away from here. Far away from here. Maybe I can convince my Aunt in France to accept me... At the sight of a video game store, Jordan thought of something. Quickly, he changed lanes and made a right turn. Even though finding a parking space was a pain, Jordan managed and paid enough for an hour. He rushed inside the video game store and looked around at the environment around him. Everyone here looked so happy. The cashiers were merrily chatting with their customers. People looked at him as he passed by them. Why would this surfer boy be in a place like this? Jordan looked around the area at the endless titles that were foreign to him until he spot a title he recognized- Legend of Zelda. Jin used to wear that t-shirt a lot, said Jordan with a small smile, picking up the game. With the triangles... After staring at the game for a few more seconds, Jordan moved on and looked around. He was surprised at the prices. Video games were so expensive! It was no wonder Jin didn't have enough money to go on dates! After Jordan

looked through all the shelves, he was satisfied and left with a smile on his face. This was the first time he stepped into Jin's world. All these years... even though he had been conscious of the boy, he had never tried to understand him. That's it, said Jordan, snapping his fingers. I know what to do now. Instead of surfing like he wanted to, Jordan looked at things Jin enjoyed instead. First of all, he went to a bookstore and told himself not to get distracted with his favorites or any of the psychology books. Instead, he went to the fantasy section of the bookstore, an area he did not dare enter before. Jin loved fantasy books right? After he tried reading a couple of pages of Ender's Game, Jordan was shocked beyond words. These books were interesting! They were not trashy at all! It's no wonder Jin enjoys books like these, said Jordan, smiling and putting the book back. It's easy to read and it's funny. In the graphic novel section, Jordan tried out one of those Bleach manga that Jin loved so much. He recalled Jin saying that a couple of times in the past. With his reading speed, Jordan managed to finish the first volume under ten minutes. Blinking at the end of it, Jordan closed it and thought about it. He liked it too. Before, he looked down on these types of books because they were filled with images and little words. However, when he looked closer, manga were actually very intelligent. The way they made use of unrealistic faces and speed lines was genius. Jordan was thoroughly impressed. After he left the bookstore, Jordan did things that he thought Jin would do. He helped an elderly lady across the street. He helped a child find his mother. He even helped a girl find the right words to confess to a boy she had feelings for. By the end of his adventure, he was standing in front of an Italian restaurant. For some reason, Jordan had this sudden urge to eat Italian food. He ordered out and went to his car, eating lasagna without worrying about his weight. By the end of his meal, Jordan decided that Jin was better at cooking lasagna. This time, Jordan went to the beach at last. He felt happy. Even if someone were to shoot him right now under the sunlight like in The Stranger, he would be content with dying. Jordan stretched and checked his time. It was already ten minutes past six. Nodding his head, Jordan decided that he would sleep in his car for today until he could find a place to live tomorrow. The search was on! For now, he was going to enjoy the last day of being the Jordan Greene he hated so much. The Jordan Greene who can't even talk to Rin Hamada without cowering in fear at what the others will think of him, said Jordan, kicking the sand playfully. The Jordan Greene who can't stand up to his brother-in-law whenever he says crap about me behind his sister's back. Jordan kicked the sand again. The Jordan Greene who brings trouble to every girl he ever dated. Jordan clutched his hand into a fist. The Jordan Greene who can't protect anybody, not even himself. Suddenly, Jordan fell down into the sad. Why was he crying? The Jordan Greene who should have never been born in the first place... who doesn't even deserve to know what love is like...

Standing up straight and wiping the sand off his hand, Jordan held his cell phone up. It was ringing again. He was getting tired of this. He had to leave everything behind. He had to forget about his family and friends. Even though he wanted to escape forever, he knew that it was better if he just started his life anew, away from them all. If he died, he would just trouble them over his death. His mother and father wouldn't be happy on that cruise they were on now. His sister would probably stop working for a few days for his pointless funeral. His friends would probably make a big deal out of it. Why would he want to do that? If he just disappeared without a trace, maybe then they would give up on him. Ready to throw his cell phone into the ocean, Jordan readied himself. He was going to shoot a three-pointer. The sun was setting. He was aiming for the edge of the sun's reflection in the water. This was it. Once his cell phone was gone, there was no way for anyone to find him. From now on, he was going to leave his fate up to the world. If he couldn't find a job and a place to stay, he would die in the streets somewhere. That was okay. If he could find a job and a place to stay, he would live and start over. Right when he was about to fling his cell phone, he was tackled from behind. This was when Jordan mentally cursed himself for not working out lately. Even with that little weight, he fell on his face and stomach. Wait a second. Why would a child tackle him for no reason whatsoever? Did he make children mad somehow too? I'm sorry okay? cried Jordan, punching the sand. He turned his head around and nearly bumped his face into Rin's. R-Rin Hamada? Caught him, said Rin, sitting on top of Jordan's back and motioning behind her. I thought it was an elementary school kid with that much weight... said Jordan before he received a punch to the shoulder. Now, that was just weak. You really need to take lessons from Roselle instead. Shut up! Jordan! cried Victoria, pushing Rin aside and hugging Jordan from behind. She was in tears. Thank goodness you're okay! Oh my God! Jordan! screamed Frida, landing on top of Jordan's back as well. Now, there were two girls on his back at once. We like miss you so much! Like totally, said Victoria, squeezing him harder. You two and Rin Hamada search for me? asked Jordan, surprised. They refused to get off his back. How did you find me? We tracked your cell phone, said Rin, rolling her eyes. She was covered in sand now so she was busy dusting them off. It took us a while since you kept moving but once you stopped at the beach, we caught up. That system cost like a fortune, said Frida, frowning. You guys didn't have to find me... said Jordan, blushing slightly. Did you all travel together? No, actually, said Bailey, appearing with the usual angelic smile on her face. We all drove around in our separate cars until we thought of the GPS

tracking online system, courtesy of the brilliant Rin Hamada and her boyfriend. It was all Kristian, said Rin, shaking her head with an amused smile on her face. I was texting with him earlier when it came up. He joked about installing GPS into my cell phone to prevent me from cheating. Yup! cried Victoria happily, holding up her matching cell phone with Jordan. Since she couldn't afford a phone, Jordan got her one a long time ago. Remember how we both like installed GPS to like each other's cell phones for like the exact same reason? Jordan nodded. Man, I completely forgot how obsessed I was with you, Vic. Baby! said Victoria, snuggling herself onto him. Disgusting, said Rin, sticking out her tongue. But really, said Jordan, looking around with a smile on his face. He managed to get up into a sitting position now. Four girls going around looking for me. I feel like the luckiest guy in the world. Four girls? asked Frida, looking around. Where's Jin-Jin? Jin? asked Jordan, slightly surprised. Jin's here too? Of course, said Bailey, giggling under her breath. Rin Hamada can't drive. You're more devious than you look, said Rin, narrowing her eyes at the girl. Bailey winked. Get your driver's license soon, dear. In the middle of all the people in swimsuit, Jordan caught sight of the Korean boy walking up to them from a distance. Jin was wearing that white suit and silver shirt combination. He was carrying his cell phone and car keys in one hand and a container in the other. Moreover, Jordan decided that Jin looked brilliant under the rays of the sunset. His extremely dark, messy hair. His perfect white skin. His boyish, good looks. His kind, dark eyes. His bashful expression. Did Jin always look this good? Jordan, said Jin, breaking Jordan from his gaze. I didn't know what to get you for your welcoming back party so... Jin scratched the back of his head, thinking of the right words to say. So... Jin handed Jordan the container he bought before coming here. I got you a watermelon smoothie! So not romantic, said Rin fiercely under her breath. Say it with more emotion! Thanks? asked Jordan, gawking at the drink. Vic said you like watermelon smoothie and since I haven't had any in a while and it was hot getting here, said Jin, ashamed of himself. Rin and the others were gaping at him. I took a sip of it but if you really find it nasty, I'll go and buy another- Jordan immediately sipped his straw. No, it's fine. Thanks a lot Jin. No problem Jordan! said Jin, beaming. Rin smirked to herself. That's better, Jin. I knew reminding you how thirty you are before making you buy that drink would come in handy. Did you count on him not buying a drink for himself? asked Bailey

curiously. That's Jin for you, said Rin with a knowing look on her face. Always cheap when it comes to himself but completely generous when it comes to everyone else. The childhood friend should know, said Bailey, giving Rin a proud look. So... said Jordan awkwardly. Jin glanced away shyly. Er... Oh Bailey, said Rin, pulling the girl away from the two boys. They went off together. Since you're in a relationship with Joseph Cruz, what is your advice to replying to this particular text message? Since Frida got the signal from Rin, she also dragged Victoria away from Jordan. Vic, let's talk about that one dress I bought the other day! But, said Victoria, glancing back at Jordan miserably. Frida shook her head and sent Victoria mental messages. Fine then... The two boys stood next to each other with some distance in between them. Even though Jordan thought Jin was going to give him something more meaningful for his so-called welcome back party, he still appreciated his favorite drink after everything he went through today. He kept glancing back nervously at Jin, expecting the Korean boy to go first but Jin didn't say anything. So Jin, said Jordan, picking up the courage to speak first. You're not going to ask me why I ran away from home? Jin smiled and stared at the sunset. I'm just so relieved you're alive and well that I don't really care for why. I see, said Jordan, releasing a sigh of relief. Are you all right? I'm great. I'm just tired. Nodding in understanding, Jin indicated at his cup. May I have some of that? Sure, said Jordan, blushing. He handed it back to Jin, who sipped it without thinking much of it. I'm sorry for worrying you, Jin. No, it's all my fault, said Jin, laughing shakily. I'm a drama queen so I always overreact when it comes to these things. You were probably just going for a stroll on the beach when I- You heard about that note didn't you? Jin stopped and nodded slowly. I did. It sounded like a suicide note didn't it? asked Jordan, feeling guilty. It did, said Jin honestly in a cracked voice. I was so scared. I thought something happened to you, but of course, I didn't want to give up hope. Jin shook his head frantically. No, I shouldn't be talking about suck unlucky things. You're here now so that's all that matters. May I ask a personal question, Jin? asked Jordan suddenly. Yes? Do you ever feel like by being alive, you're burdening your parents? Out of all the questions, Jordan had to ask this one. This was one of the biggest reasons why he wanted to leave to a different country or even this life.

Every day, he couldn't stop thinking about how much he was taking away from the world around him. Maybe he was better off dead. Much to Jordan's surprise though, Jin said in a solemn voice, All the time. Oh... I didn't mean to make you sad... At Jordan's apology, Jin shook his head and continued, But isn't that the case with all kids? Jordan picked up his eyes immediately at Jin's answer. When a couple decides to have kids, they have to think financially too. Every child is costly. Parents know that, I'm sure, so when they decide on having a kid, they must have something other than money in mind right? Jordan agreed without saying a word. After all, they are giving up a huge chunk of their income so they must want something in return and I'm sure that's what's important above all else. But what if your parents complain about you burdening them every single day? You're here aren't you? asked Jin, peering up at Jordan with a sweet smile. Something, no matter how insignificant, must have convinced them to keep you at that crucial moment. Even if they regret it now, that something is still there somewhere, holding ties of family together even now. Jin chuckled to himself. That is why it's so precious. Both this something and the value of family. Jin... said Jordan, trying hard not to sound too emotional. What is it Jordan? My parents would have been very lucky to have you as a son instead. Shocked, Jin tried hard to look modest. You shouldn't say such things Jordan... It's true though, said Jordan in a hurt tone. They would have loved you. Unlike you, I'm such a useless son. I couldn't do anything for them before they leave on that cruise. I guess I just hated them saying how much they regretted my birth that I never tried to understand them. How young were you when they left? asked Jin curiously. Jordan tried to think about it. I don't know. Too young. Nine? How many nine-year-olds know what to do to help out their parents at that age? asked Jin, shaking his head. Not many. It's elementary school. Our precious childhood. It's the time to learn together, to play handball, and to make friends with other kids in school. It's a time when you can just play and have fun. Color books. Draw on walls. Oh and go to lots of birthday parties! After that, Jin lowered his eyes. Yeah... What's wrong, Jin? asked Jordan in dismay at Jin's mood swing. Oh nothing, said Jin, laughing. I just realize that I didn't do much of that. What? You know, said Jin, shrugging. Besides video games, I didn't really do any of that. I didn't really go to any birthday parties or stay after school and play with the other boys. The other kids didn't like you?

No, that's not it, said Jin, embarrassed now. Everyone keeps inviting me to come to their birthday parties and sleepovers and other fun activities, but... But? asked Jordan, frowning. Jin shrugged. But I didn't want to bother my parents. They're the ones who have to pick me up and drop me off after all. The only times I really bother them is to see Rin-chan but that's because she's special and I used to live really close to her. I see... Oh no, said Jin, checking the watch. He could feel Rin's glare from far away. It's almost time for the Varsity football game! What? asked Jordan, running next to Jin. The football game is today remember? Jordan nodded. Of course I know the football game is today but why would you care Jin? You never even attended a football game before! Yes, I have, said Jin, laughing at Jordan. Just not the Varsity ones. Why the JV ones? Because Bo's in them until this year, said Jin proudly, hurrying through the sand with Jordan. I promised Rin-chan that we'll see his first Varsity football game together! It's five minutes until the beginning of the game! The school is a fifteen minute drive from here, Jin, said Jordan, frowning. Probably a lot more with traffic. Jin sprinted before he said, Better late than never! Once Jin made it to his car, he met Rin's glaring eyes. He tried to laugh it off but she went over and smacked him on the head. Jordan couldn't help but laugh at them. He was envious of them. They had known each other since forever. Right then and there, Jordan wondered what it would be like if he had known Jin as long as Rin. Maybe he wouldn't have grown up to be so messed up now... So? asked Rin, looking back and forth at them. Jin tilted his head. Is Jordan coming back home or not? We're late anyways so it wouldn't hurt for me to ask right? Jordan sighed. I don't want to go back home... Where are you planning to sleep, Mister Brainless? asked Rin, leaning up to him despite her height. Even though Rin was much shorter than him, Jordan was intimidated by her. I... was planning to sleep in my car... That's the last straw, said Rin angrily, tackling Jordan to the ground. Even though it was cement, Rin was merciless. She was touching him all over the place. Where is it? Rin-chan? asked Jin, gaping. What are you doing? What do you think I'm doing? asked Rin, holding up Jordan's car keys up in the air. Jordan gawked at how fast she found them on him. I'm taking his car keys. He's not allowed to drive for the rest of the day. You can't do that! cried Jordan helplessly, trying to steal them back. However, at the sight of Rin's glare, Jordan backed down. Never mind...

Happy now, Rin stood up and dropped his keys down her shirt. Jordan blinked. Jin blinked. Did Rin just put them where they thought they saw she put them? Licking his lips at her chest at first, Jordan eventually met Rin's deadly eyes, jumped slightly, and hid behind Jin, who patted him in a comforting manner on the head. Er... said Jin, scratching his head. Rin-chan... don't you think that's going too far? I mean... do you have to put them there? The reason why Jin had to ask was because that was a very Jezebelle thing to do instead. It was so out of Rin's character that Jin wondered if he was with the right girl anymore. Judging by the look on Rin's face though, she was thoroughly satisfied. Definitely, said Rin to Jin's question, pushing Jordan and Jin toward the car. Move it! We're going to be even more late! What if Bo searches for us during half-time? Right, said both boys in unison. Once they were in the car, Jin drove away with Rin in the front seat and Jordan in the back. Thanks to Rin not wanting to lose out to Jordan in the best friend position, she refused to relinquish her spot next to Jin even though she was the reason why Jordan was with them in the same car in the first place. After Rin explained how the other three went ahead of time to the football game, she held up a sketch for Jordan to see. Jin already knew what she drew so he didn't bother trying to look. If this was Rin he was sitting next to, she probably drew a sketch of him and Jordan while she waited for them by the car. That's amazing! cried Jordan with a dropped jaw. You're incredible! Rin flushed red. I'm not that great... No, seriously, said Jordan, looking at the picture closely. That looks exactly like Jin and I. It's beautiful. Catching the look on Jin's face from the rear mirror, Jordan reddened and added quickly, I can't draw for shit okay? I'm always impressed by talented artists who can draw like it's nothing. Man, I love this. Jordan, said Jin, groaning. You do know what that picture implies right? Jordan frowned. No... I don't. I mean we're just shirtless and- At the pale and frozen look on Jordan's face, Rin burst out laughing. She was having so much fun with this. She took the keys from under her shirt and pressed her sketchbook against her chest, laughing. Jin shook his head, sighing to himself. As for Jordan, he looked like his soul left his body for a few seconds. Blushing to himself, Jordan laid down and showed his back to Rin and Jin. He couldn't let them see his face right now. See what you did, Rin-chan? cried Jin, upset. What? It's not that bad! I didn't even make it hentai. You should have given him a warning ahead of time! Rin rolled her eyes. It's not my fault he didn't get it immediately. Trying to cool himself, Jordan was hitting against his chest to stop his heart from beating so rapidly. Right now, he wanted to go back to his dark room

and hid himself underneath the blankets. But no, Rin was holding his car keys captive until the football game was done or so he hoped. Hey you, said Rin, reaching to the back to touch Jordan's back. Jordan turned his head slightly, revealing only his left eye. Rin was smiling cutely at him. I'm cheering for you, okay? Don't let me down. What is that supposed to mean? asked Jordan cautiously. Rin played with his keys before she smirked. I can tell, buddy. Don't give up. After a year, Fi-Fi has to go bye bye anyways. You can strike then. Thanks? asked Jordan, dropping his head. Wait. What do you mean? Giggling, Rin went back to sitting properly in her seat. She was in a great mood now. As for the victim in the back, Jordan could tell that Jin was trying really hard to concentrate on the road instead of at them. Staring at Jin, Jordan realized that maybe Roselle was right. Even though he was firm in starting a new life and never seeing his friends at school again, all he needed was to see Jin's face again and he was already back to his old life that he hated so much. If there was one huge lesson Jordan learned from that long conversation with Jin at the beach, it was that he had to keep close the few precious things to him. Even if he believed he had a crappy life thus far, at least he had a handful of good friends. Even if he believed that he burdened everyone by existing, at least he was trying his best to be helpful to make up for it. Most importantly, Jordan realized something very important. He would rather die and never see Jin again than live somewhere else and never see Jin again. There was a difference. Catching a smile from Jin, Jordan flushed and glanced away. He returned to staring at the car seat instead as he kept his back up. Yes, Roselle was right. It did not matter that he didn't like Jin sexually. He preferred girls for that anyways. As long as he could talk to Jin like he did earlier today and stay by his side, Jordan was perfectly content. Laughing to himself, Jordan thought it was stupid how long he had been running away from his feelings. He loved Jin for a long time now. It was about time he came to terms with them. ************************************************ At the end of the first half of the football game, Bo was exhausted. The rest of his team were as well. For their first home game, it was a pain in the neck so far. They were currently losing by a small margin but the numbers still stung for all of them. For one thing, Kirk left the team at the last minute and they had to quickly replace him. Second of all, Tristan was in a bitter mood today so everyone except for Alejandro had to endure him. Fuck this shit hell hole, said Tristan, stringing curse words together on their way off the football field for the break. At least the defensive line has been doing very well, said Bo, grinning over his shoulder at Matt, who was well-known for his huge build and power. Now, if only we get a few yards in... It's all that mother fucker Kirk's fault, said Tristan, glancing over at the cheerleaders. They were taking a quick break before they had to return to their routines so most of them decided to chat with Kirk, who was probably

here to mock them and celebrate when they lose. I can't stand his shitty face anymore. You're not even going to say hi to your girlfriend? asked Lil, a tall African American senior who was a well-known kicker on the team. Monika? asked Tristan, laughing it off miserably. Monika was nearby with the rest of the cheerleaders. She was Captain after all. Football comes first. Girls come later. The rest of you blockheads should fucking understand this by now. As always, said Bo, grinning at Matt and Lil. Tristan's married to football. Oh yeah? asked Tristan, whirling on Bo now. Where's your little girlfriend, Bobby? She should be here, said Bo, rubbing his chin thoughtfully. Maybe she's taking care of her hair right now? Tristan spat on the floor. Excuses. Towels and water, sang Xuan Lan to the sideline, holding up towels with a smile on her face. Alejandro went over to her immediately to pick up the first towel. Keep it up Alejandro! I know you can do it! Ashoo! She's such a mascot character, said Tristan, chuckling darkly. Well Bobby? Before Bo could make any more excuses for his friends' absence that didn't go unnoticed by him, he heard someone call his name from the back. Tristan and the rest of the boy also followed Bo's gaze. Right behind them, the Marching Band just came out of the room in their shiny uniform and instruments. Even in matching clothes and shoes, Bo could recognize Rin from afar. Bo beamed at the girl who called out his name. Hamada-sama! A promise is a promise, said Rin, holding up her saxophone and smiling. Though I did get scolded for coming so late! As long as you're here, said Bo gently. Rin pointed at the bleachers. Jin's up there with the Populars. If you want proof, I can call him and- Suddenly, Rin received a crushing side hug from Bo. She blushed but she didn't push him away. In a low voice, Bo muttered thanks to her before he hurried off with the rest of his team. Since Rin was in her uniform, she felt really hot after that embrace. He was sweating too! Still, Rin smiled to herself. Even if she kept her promise to Bo for her own personal reasons, she was happy that she came. JinRinBo was no more but they would always be friends. Poor Rin-chan, said Jin, watching Rin and Bo hugged from afar. Why? asked Jordan curiously. Mr. Chan must have lectured her for skipping practice. The two boys were sitting side by side with Victoria on Jordan's other side and Frida on Jin's other side. One row under them, Kirk and Cerina were cuddling. For now, Jin was going to assume Kirk was going out with Cerina as one of his many girlfriends. Next, Jin decided to ask Kirk about Jezebelle after the game since one, Kirk was in no mood to talk to Jin and two, Jin was sure

Jezebelle could take good care of herself for a while longer. That nerd skip practice? asked Jordan in disbelief. Not only that, said Jin, amused. She skipped sixth period too. The apocalypse has arrived. Laughing, Jin said quickly, I know. She did it for you out of all people. I'm glad we succeed in retrieving you back. Mission accomplished! Jin sighed in content. It's like finishing a level on one of those 007 games! I wanted to get a good grade on that test before I leave, said Jordan, also happy with how things turn out. I wanted to do it for her too. Jin blinked. And to think... you guys have been fighting for years. Peer pressure is quite influential, said Jordan admittedly, standing up suddenly. I realize I have to do something since Marching Band just finished playing. Go for it Jordan! cried Jin, poking his cheeks and winking at the same time. Flushing bright red, Jordan excused himself quickly from Jin and the other two girls. He got off the bleachers and made his way down to the food store. They were selling hot dogs, chips, and drinks there. Jordan tried to ignore his beating heart while he searched for a tiny dog in the midst of the long lines. She must be here. He thought he saw her here. At last, Jordan spotted her. She was actually really close to the front of the line. The reason why he noticed her was because she was the only short, Asian girl who dared to scream at some boy who bumped into her on his way out without apologizing. Hey, said Jordan, standing next to her. Ri-chan. Don't call me that, said Rin through gritted teeth. What do you want? Seriously, is that how you start most conversations with people you know? Rin rolled her eyes. Yes, actually. Like how you always start your conversations with me by asking how Kristian is like you're gay for him or something. Moving on, said Jordan, coughing uncomfortably. Yes, moving on, said Rin, pouting at the subject change. You're not supposed to be seen publicly with me remember? It's a football game, said Jordan with a knowing nod. No one cares then. I see... I heard you ditched school just for me. Rin shook her head frantically. Definitely not! What is it then? I ditched school for myself you see, said Rin, fumbling with her wallet in her hands. I felt responsible for your disappearance. Yesterday, you were a mess in front of my house. I should have shown more concern for your welfare but instead, I tutored you all night and even screamed at you a couple of times. The next day, you vanish without a trace. You were last seen at my

house, therefore, Rin pointed at Jordan. I feel like I have to do something so it has nothing to do with me caring for you or anything of the sort! Point taken, said Jordan with a nod. Yes, said Rin, also nodding. I did it out of guilt, nothing more. Got it. So, what do you want again? asked Rin warily. Taking his wallet out dramatically, Jordan said, I'm paying for your drink. You're hot and sweaty right now so you're buying something to drink before you go back. That's what you're in line for right? That's it? asked Rin in disbelief. You're going to buy my ditching with a drink? Yes, said Jordan, smirking. Because you're only worth that much, Richan. First of all, you're not allowed to call me that, said Rin, poking Jordan hard in the side. Then, she blushed slightly. Second of all, at least you should buy a large. I didn't think you can consume that much liquid in that tiny body of yours. Rin glared. Enough with the short jokes! You're sounding like Bo! I'm making up for his absence, said Jordan, moving with Rin up to the counter. He waited for her to order her drink before he paid for her. One more thing, Ri-chan. Rin glanced at him with her straw in her mouth. As cute as it was, Jordan had to hold back in saying anything. I was going to say that since we wasted time this week without much progress in how to lessen Jin's popularity, I was thinking we can think of a plan ahead of time and then report it to Tiffany and Bo later. Good idea, said Rin, sipping her soda thoughtfully. I might have thought of something but we'll talk about it later. All right then, said Jordan, satisfied. I'll be going back to Jin now. Oh Jin eh? asked Rin, snickering to herself. Jordan dropped his head at her respond. Just curious though. Who made you call me Ri-chan now? Bo? Kristian? Jin? Is this another one of those jokes or peer pressure scenario? Actually, said Jordan, smiling. I made it up myself after hearing Jin go 'Rin-chan' this and that all the time. It's cute isn't it? Jordan walked off. A perfect name for a puppy. I've always wanted a puppy. The Japanese girl nearly crushed the cup in her hands at those words. What did you say, Jordan Greene? Rin chased after him, breaking through the crowds. Say it to my face, you loser! You brainless! You shallow, horrible person! You insignificant tool! The two of them ran off without noticing that they passed by Wendy and Jezebelle, who just bought candy in the line next to theirs this entire time. While Wendy watched Jordan with a relieved expression, Jezebelle kept her eyes on Rin with a frown. Leader? asked Wendy at her immobile leader. Jezebelle smirked. Oh nothing. I was just wondering how her relationship with Shiratori is now since, Jezebelle looked around her quickly.

I don't see him anywhere. Also, how convenient is it that Young is with Grim and Jordan is with Rinny at the football game after their breakup recently. What are you implying? asked Wendy, knowing Jezebelle too well. Nothing. Just observing. Eating out of the same candy bag, Jezebelle dragged Wendy by the wrist to their seats that happened to be very far away from where Jin and his group were sitting at. Even though Jezebelle knew Jin was somewhere around here, she figured that she could contact him later since she had more important things to do, like convincing Wendy to be more decisive about her love life. Soon enough, half time was over. The football players on both teams marched right back on the field. Passing by the Marching Band, Bo noticed Rin almost immediately. The girl gazed right at him and smiled in motivation before she went inside the band room with the rest of her group. With that encouragement, Bo was ready to play some football in the name of JinRinBo's last promise.

Author's Note
Finally! I'm done with Jordan's arc. The thing with Jordan's arc is that even though the arc is completed, Jordan's story is far from finished yet. Same with Wendy. There are bits of their respective stories still missing. Oh wow. I totally did not plan Wendy's arc to be completed at around Jordan's. Granted, I gave most of this chapter to Jordan's but Wendy's arc will be expanded on later (as will Cash's and Vance's and others). I am very happy with this chapter's resolution even though I had no idea where to end it! High note? Low note? Climax or resolution? So many choices... Oh and for those who are wondering about the whole Jordan dilemma being realistic or not, I'll just say this. My friend's brother is going through the same thing as Jordan. I based Jordan's story off that brother. Also, it's not unusual for women to love other women emotionally even if they get married to a man. There have been many accounts where girlfriends exchange love letters over the years while still being married to their husbands. I wouldn't call these people bisexual since that implies they are sexually attracted to both sex but I'm not sure what the word are for these people. I find it kind of cool personally <3 Overall, I can safely say that Jordan is not the same case as Quinn since Quinn is definitely bisexual. Hopefully, the result of Jordan's relationship towards Jin is somewhat surprising despite the million foreshadows and hints in the earlier chapters...

A Question/Request from a Reader:

If there is only one thing you can do to Jin, what will it be?

Rin: Force him to study and care about his grades! Bo: Hmmm. Oh my. What an interesting question. I'll share him with Hamadasama in a threesome. Should I take bottom or top? Jezebelle: Make him my permanent man slave for life. Duh. Jordan: I don't think this question is appropriate... though I wonder what Jin looks like in a dress... Vance: Kill him off. Kristian: Take him out clubbing. We'll get all the chicks guaranteed. Tiffany: Go see a sunset together. What's with the looks? Jennifer/Eunice: Hug him to death! So huggable <3 Wendy: Handcuffs... chains... whips... cages... am I missing anything? Roselle: I need him to model for a main character! Xuan Lan: Have him adopt me as his younger sister~ Minnie: I'll marry him :P Seriously, I need a househusband in my life... And that's all for now guys~ Please vote, comment, etc etc.
