We spoke to Abdul Bashir from BlackRock Financial Company who tells us if Oldham has survived the recession. 58secs-1min30secs (Abdul Bashir) The economic situation in Oldham is worse than the national average, if we actually think back historically the industry that Oldham was founded, such as cotton mills have been in decline over the past 40 years or so and Oldham has really had to adapt like many other towns to growing their economy in other ways so what I think that means for in terms of the recession, Oldham will eventually survived to recession but it will take more than the rest of the country 1min31secs-44secs: (Masroor) In other news, Whittles Rock Pub which was previously due for possible closure, he reassures us that is going to stay well and truly open. We sent our entertainment correspondent Alex Wild to Whittles Rock Pub.
