To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing this letter in support of Katie Worstell. I supervised Katie during her student teaching experience in the fall of 2012 for Miami University. Miss Worstell began her student teaching experience with a kindergarten cooperating teacher in August of 2012 at Bridgeport Elementary School in the Hamilton City School District. Unfortunately, Katie had to change placements at midterm due to the coope rating teachers concern that she was not able to appropriately mentor Katie because of a few very difficult student behavior problems that required so much of her time and attention. At midterm, Katie was placed in another kindergarten classroom and worked extremely hard to learn her new students. Katie was very organized and spent many hours preparing and executing lesson plans. She used technology on a daily basis to enhance her instruction. Examples of Miss Worstells strengths are listed below: models respect for students diverse cultures, language skills, and experiences recognizes characteristics of gifted students, students with disabilities, and at-risk students in order to assist in appropriate identification, instruction and intervention expects all students to achieve to their full potential, treats all students fairly and establishes an environment that is respectful, supportive, and caring knows the content and uses specific concepts, assumptions and skills to plan instruction understands and uses specific instructional strategies to effectively teach the central concepts of the curriculum analyzes data to monitor student progress and learning and to plan, differentiate, and modify instruction

I would recommend Katie for a teaching position. Any school district would be fortunate to acquire a teacher with her love and respect for children. Please feel free to contact me if you would like further information about Miss Worst ells student teaching performance. I can be reached at 513-907-4146. Sincerely,
