Samaritan It starts when Im dozing my head against the wall. Its been a long day skiing.

The radio crackles an injured skier is somewhere down below. Fatigue gone, I throw on my coat, belt pack and gear. Im out the door and with sled in tow I schuss down to my patient. Hoping for the best. The crossed skis are the first giveaway that somethings not right. Hes sitting up, waiting for my arrival to get him down to warmth and safety. Fortunately, hes not badly injured. A splint, some TLC and were off. Hell be fine. A simple satisfaction of helping others who share the love of the snow.
