Student-Owned Personal Technology Device Dear Parent or Guardian, Your child has expressed an interest in bringing his/her own technology device to school to use throughout the day. The staff recognizes the motivational merits of allowing students to use technology responsibly for learning and representing their learning. During this era of rapidly growing, innovative technologies available to our young people, the staff wishes to encourage students to read at school and feel compelled to establish some safety and liability parameters. With your approval, we are permitting your child to bring his/her technology device to school with the following stipulations 1. Appropriate Content: Parents must review the content of the technology device to insure that the subject matter is not lewd or of questionable subject matter. Teachers will not be held accountable for content. 2. Pre-approved Books: Students will read books that meet the approval of the classroom teacher during designated reading times. 3. Internet Connection: No content may be downloaded at school according to WCPS policy. 4. Liability: Fountain Rock Elementary will not be held responsible for theft, loss, or damage to the device .
