Kandidatong May Prinsipyo, Suportado Ko Statement of Endorsement of National Candidates for the May 13, 2013 Elections We are

organizations and individuals representing various sectors and we are advocates of reproductive health. Together, we pushed and pushed to have a law on reproductive health because we believe in the beauty and merits of a national policy which protects the health and lives of mothers and their children through access to services and information on reproductive health; ensures couples the right to decide the number, spacing and timing of their children; empowers women and couples on matters relating to their reproductive health; and educates young people on sexuality and reproductive health. Republic Act 10354 or the RH Act of 2012 is a product of over a decade of struggle and sacrifice, dedication and hard work. This is why we have chosen to remain steadfast in our advocacy even after its enactment; we will not let anything and anyone get in the way of its full implementation. The Purple Vote campaign was launched earlier this year. The campaign urges Filipino voters to elect candidates who will stand by the RH Law and ensure its implementation. Thus, the Purple Vote is a plea to use the right to vote to guarantee the rights and freedoms which the RH Law fulfills and protects. Like the RH Law, the Purple Vote speaks of the right to informed decision making; it is only proper that we applied a strict set of criteria in choosing the candidates. We believe that a candidate who is worthy of the Purple Vote should be: (1) supportive of the RH Law, (2) with good position on social justice issues, and (3) serving the public with integrity. After a series of consultations, we have finally reached a decision. Today, we urge every Filipino voter to choose the following on May 13: 1. Hontiveros, Risa 2. Angara, Sonny 3. Poe, Grace 4. Legarda, Loren 5. Cayetano, Alan 6. Aquino, Bam 7. Escudero, Chiz We have faith that if elected, these candidates would ensure the Laws implementation and would not put personal interests before the good of the citizens. On May 13, we will vote for these candidates and we hope that majority of Filipino votersthe same majority who has supported the RH bill through the yearswill do the same.
