Patricia Asuncion Per 3 4/10/13 Rhetorical Triangle in Media Messages This advertisement was created by the ASPCA, which

informs the public that animal abuse is happening everywhere. Since ASPCA is well-known and national organization that prevents cruelty to animals, makes them a high ethos speaker. This public service advertisement shines the light on animal abuse, so that people are aware of the inhumane conditions some animals face daily. When you first look at this ad, you imagine and wonder how one person can use these supplies to torture the animal. This curiosity captures the peoples attention; these three images of the duck tape, gasoline, and a cat are common items that are not usually associated with each other. In addition, the words on the bottom that says, Whatever you can imagine. Weve seen worse, touches the audiences moral. The person reading it will feel a sense of urgency towards animal abuse. ASPCAs advertisement was targeted to the general public, but this subject impacted pet owners the most. ASPCAs advertisement did a good job on spreading the word out by letting the audience use their own imagination and using the audiences morals to their advantage.
