BENJARONG

WHAT IS BENJARONG?
Benjarong is a type of Thai painted porcelain which will be painted using Thai pattern. Benjarong is literally means ve colors which Benja () is mean 5 and Rong () is mean color. This means there will be ve colors in Benjarong which are black, white yellow, red and green/cyan.

HISTORY OF BENJARONG
Benjarong was created back in the Ming Dynasty period (1368-1644). A princess from China had married the Siam Royal Family and brought with her Benjarong porcelain. Back then, Benjarong was made for the Emperor of China only. Siam brought some of the Chinese artists and created workshops in his country.
