Negative iron balance Diet alone not adequate Supplementary iron therapy for all pregnant from 16 wks onwards 100mg elemental iron and 500micro gm folic acid 1 tab ferrous sulphate -60 mg iron Supplementary vitamins from 20wks Calcium 500mg tablet
