IN WHAT WAYS DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT USE, DEVELOP ORCHALLENGE FORMS AND CONVENTIONS OF REAL MEDIAPRODUCTS?
My media product uses a lot the main running generic conventions in any magazine. Like majority of magazines my magazine is in Print. And following my radial analysis I used what usually was used in majority of the R&B magazines. On the front cover of R&B magazines there was always normally a main image of an artist which normally took the whole page. And surrounding the image were main headlines or stories. The artists who appears on the front page his or her name will be in written in a different font to the rest of the writing and it will also be slightly larger, this is done to bring focus to the artist. R&B magazines also have a central colour as the background because they dont want to use more colours and draw attention away from the artist. In the same way I have used a black background and placed my picture in the centre, therefore the attention of the artist on my magazine can not be taken away. The title of my image is in one bold colour Gold and in written in one large font so the attention is also brought to the magazine title. As the background is red I thought Gold would stand out be able to easily bring attention. On my contents page, again I used the idea of what most R&B magazines used. On there Contents page there are few pictures from my questionnaire research I found that most of the target audience prefer sexier shot if its a female as this instantly attracts the audience if the are flicking through the magazine, keeping this in mind I used a picture of my main artist again but in a different position. I had the contents and features both in different font to signify the difference however they were both in the same colour. My headlines were in white writing against a black background box as the background was white was I also made each of the heading in a larger font so there was a difference in the description part below. I also put in two extra images of artists that I included in the features or in my double page spread. My double page spread again followed the typical conventions of a R&B magazine it had a large image of and artist and surrounding it, and writing about the success of her career . There are also two other smaller images to go with the writing. I also had a quote from one of my artists answers in large white bold writing which is in the middle of the writing and below one of the images. I placed it there on my double page spread as it would make the readers want to read the article to find out. It was placed on the second page to attract the audience.

From my research I confirmed that my age group is going to be between the ages of 16-21therefore I created a magazine which would appeal to this target audience. From my research I found that this age group prefer magazines that are informal and easy to read. I also found that they prefer to read about artists they listen to or young upcoming artists. This is why I used a young female on my front cover because she would attract this target audience furthermore the way she has been portrayed will also attract 16-21 year olds and make them agazine look informal which is what I have tried to portray. I deliberately made the model dress down as this would give and more inviting look therefore they would want to pick up the magazine also her pose can be seen as seductive again another reason why it would attract this target audience. This magazine was aimed to attract both genders and I think it still does as to males the pictures can be appealing and to females the way the model is portrayed she could seen as a model figure. On the contents page I have used a range of different people which both genders find attractive as it would feel more targeted to both genders. Another social group which can be looked at is class. For my magazine I do not think class is associated it is a mere fact of if you like this genre of music stereotypicallyC1&2 would be associated with this however, in this generation things are different therefore class is not represented through this genre.

HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENTPARTICULAR SOCIAL GROUPS?

WHAT KIND OF MEDIA INSTITUTION MIGHTDISTRIBUTE YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT AND WHY?

I think the media institution that would distribute my magazine would be a national institution because my magazine only targets English speaking audience therefore it would be best if a national institution distributed my magazine. This magazine to a certain extent would be profit driven, however we also aim to inform our audience about up coming news and try and promote the artists we use in our magazines. Magazine Institution which would best suit my magazine would be COMAG as they are UKs most dynamic marketing and distributing company and they distribute all over UK which is what magazine is intended for.

WHO WOULD BE THE AUDIENCE FOR YOURMEDIA PRODUCT?

Graeme Burton came up with media social grouping which he explains are 5 gratifications. The 5gratifications Graeme created are inform and educate, entertain, escape, social interaction and personally identify. Later Hartley added to Graeme's social grouping with: gender, age, class and ethnicity. My magazine offers Graemes gratifications of escape through news and gossips of celebrities it informs and educates through Questions and Answers. It also provides escape pictures of recent concerts of popular artists for example Rihanna. My target audience is mainly 16-21 year olds, the younger generation is my main target audience as they seem to listen to of this genre. (R&B). Maslow came up with the hierarchy of needs. He suggested that human behaviour is focussed on satisfying basic needs. I think that my magazine cover stage 5 and a bit of 6 as my magazine gives young people inspiration and esteem to do well it success stories from celebrities and also through reading about celebrities my target audience could learn to appreciate others work and respect other people as well. Also from my magazine target audience could possibly also accept the facts and lack prejudice therefore it will cover stage 6 to a certain extent.
