Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact Rationale/Reflection InTASC Standard: Standard #9: Professional Learning and Ethical Practice.

The teacher
engages in ongoing professional learning and uses evidence to continually evaluate his/her practice, particularly the effects of his/her choices and actions on others (learners, families, other professionals, and the community), and adapts practice to meet the needs of each learner.

Brief Description of Evidence: My artifact for standard 9 is a synopsis of work I have

completed to further my development as a professional educator. I have evidence of my work through pictures taken in my participation in the education outreach club, which I served as president.

Analysis of What I Learned: I learned a great deal about collaboration with not only my
peers and instructors, but leaders in the community as well. As the club president, I had the responsibility of coordinating service projects and making assignments to those within the student body organization. This taught me a great deal about delegation, leadership, and communication.

How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the InTASC Standard:

I take accountability for my professional development by being heavily involved in a student body organization that organizes service projects to build up the local community. The experiences I gained will undoubtedly affect my actions towards others. By establishing solid networking connections with professionals in the community, I can provide services for families in need.
