Lab Safety Script Hi! Life is full of dangers, but labs shouldnt be.

So, in this video we will demonstrate lab safety rules. So, what about food or drink? No food or drink allowed. And proper attire for labs? Aprons should be worn to protect clothes, but goggles must be worn at all times. Goggles should not be worn on top of your head. Accessories and flowy shirts are a no no. Open toed shoes are a no no. Rules for long or loose hair. Long hair should be pulled back out of your face. So, how do you handle equipment and chemicals? Be sure to carry equipment and chemicals with two hands. And how do you get rid of chemicals? Do not pour excess chemicals back into original container. It can contaminate it and create a reaction. Dispose of chemicals properly, usually directions for this are given on lab days. What do you do if you get chemicals in your eyes? If you get chemicals in your eyes, you should wash your eyes out at the eye station or sink for 15 minutes. What if chemicals get on your skin? If you get chemicals on your skin, wash the affected area for 15 minutes using the sink or the safety shower. In case of fire. In case of fire, get the fire extinguisher, pull the clip, point nozzle at the base of the fire and squeeze. Do NOT take chemicals out of the room. What are you doing? You cant do that! NOO!!! Accidents still happen, so heres how to handle broken glass.

If there is broken glass, notify the teacher immediately. Ah shucks, Mr. Thomas theres broken glass. What if your lab partner gets injured? CODE ONE!! And of course at the end of the lab Your hands must be washed at the end of the class after a lab has been done.
