WE ARE HIS CHOSEN PEOPLE

Saturday, 11th MAY I will be their God, and they shall be my people." 2 Corinthians 6:16
What a sweet title: "My people!" What a cheering revelation: "Their God!" How much of meaning is couched in those two words, "My people!" Here is speciality. The whole world is God's; the heaven, even the heaven of heavens is the Lord's, and He reigneth among the children of men; but of those whom He hath chosen, whom He hath purchased to Himself, He saith what He saith not of others--"My people" In this word there is the idea of proprietorship. In a special manner the "Lord's portion is His people; Jacob is the lot of His inheritance." All the nations upon earth are His; the whole world is in His power; yet are His people, His chosen, more especially His possession; for He has done more for them than others; He has bought them them nigh to Himself.

MY YEAR OF UNCOUNTABLE BLESSING

God is always thinking upon us, never turns aside His mind from us, has us always before His eyes; and this is precisely as we would have it, for it would be dreadful to exist for a moment beyond the observation of our heavenly Father. His thoughts are always tender, loving, wise, prudent, far-reaching, and they bring to us countless benefits: hence it is a choice delight to remember them. The Lord always did think upon His people: hence their election and the covenant of grace by which their salvation is secured

where shall this wisdom be found? Many have dreamed of it, but have not possessed it. Where shall we learn it? Let us listen to the voice of the Lord, for He hath declared the secret; He hath revealed to the sons of men wherein true wisdom lieth, and we have it in the text, "Whoso trusteth in the Lord, happy is he." The true way to handle a matter wisely is to trust in the Lord. This is the sure clue to the most intricate labyrinths of life, follow it and find eternal bliss. He who trusts in the Lord has a diploma for wisdom granted by inspiration: happy is he now, and happier shall he be above. Lord, in this sweet eventide walk with me in the garden, and teach me the wisdom of faith.

of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you. Leviticus 26:8

"Five

When it came to the promises about safety and security, Scripture describes it this way: Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand Few would defeat many, and this blessing came true for Israel both in biblical times and in modern times as well.However, as the Sages point out, the math in this verse doesnt add up. If 5 can chase 100, then that is a ratio of 1-to-20. If that is the kind of strength that God is promising, then 100 Israelites should be able to defeat 2,000. Yet the verse promises that 100 men will chase 10,000! Thats a ratio of 1-to-100! The divine wisdom here is that we cannot compare the unity of 5 people with the unity of 100 but there is strength in unity. And the greater the unity, the greater the strength. United we stand and united we are blessed.

is simply ridiculous . Here the Scripture teaches that we are not allowed to work the land of Israel every seven years. So what will the people eat during that year? The verses promise that on the sixth year of the cycle there will be enough crops produced to last three years. Only God could ensure such a surplus that will last for 3 years. Surely it makes more sense to believe that the Bible was written by God! Now, take a look at your life. Sometimes its hard to believe that God is right here, perfectly orchestrating everything. But look back at all the things that serendipitously happened to get you to where you are today. God has done unbelievable things in your life. Surely it makes the most sense to believe that the Master of the Universe is the guiding force in our lives.

THE BLESSING OF FAITH

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. Jere17:7

Jeremiah provides us with a description of two trees. The first is like a bush in the desert. It lives in parched soil and does not thrive. The second tree is a true evergreen: a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream its leaves are always green and never fails to bear fruit . Jeremiah likens the first tree living in parched soil to a person who puts his faith in man instead of in God .The second tree with strong roots is the person who puts all of his faith in God .Faith in God brings blessings. When we live our lives with faith, we will be able to thrive in any circumstance. Faith is the water that nourishes our roots, our soul, and allows us to flourish whatever the situation. We are grateful for the good in our lives and use our blessings well. We understand that even the challenges are blessings, for it is through them that we grow. The choice is ours: we can plant ourselves in a desert, or in the luscious grounds of faith. Just like trees, it is where we live that determines how we will grow.

Covenant blessings are not meant to be looked at only, but to be appropriated. Even our Lord Jesus is given to us for our present use. Believer, you do not make use of Christ as you ought to. When you are in trouble, why dont you tell Him all your grief? Has He not a sympathizing heart, and can He not comfort and relieve you? No, you are going about to all yourfriends, save it to the bosom of your Lord. Are you burdened with this day's sins? Here is a fountain filled with blood: use it, saint, use it. Has a sense of guilt returned upon you? The pardoning grace of Jesus may be proved again and again. Come to Him at once for cleansing. Do you deplore your weakness? He is your strength: why not lean upon Him? Do you feel naked? Come hither, soul; put on the robe of Jesus' righteousness.

Que tes penses, Dieu, me semblent impntrables! Que le nombre en est grand.Psa 139:17
Dieu pense toujours toi; ne dtourne jamais sa pense de toi. IL garde toujours les yeux fixes sur toi, et c'est prcisment ce que nous voulons, car il serait terrible d'exister pour un moment hors du regard de notre Pre cleste. Ses penses sont toujours tendre, aimante, sage, prudente, de grande envergure, et nous apportent d'innombrables avantages: il est donc un plaisir de choix retenir. Le Seigneur pense toujours son peuple: d'o leur lection et l'alliance de grce par laquelle leur salut est assur.

O se trouve cette sagesse? Beaucoup ont rv, mais ne lont jamais possd. O allons nous lapprendre? En coutant la voix du Seigneur: IL dclare ses secrets et rvle aux fils des hommes l o gt la vraie sagesse, et nous voyons dans le texte que "celui qui se confie dans le Seigneur est heureux." La vraie faon de grer une affaire sagement est de faire confiance au Seigneur. C'est l'indice sr pour les labyrinthes les plus complexes de la vie. Celui qui se confie en l'Eternel possde un diplme de sagesse accorde par l'inspiration. Seigneur , enseigne-moi la sagesse de la foi.

Le monde entier est Dieu; le ciel, mme les cieux des cieux est au Seigneur, et Il rgne parmi les fils des hommes, mais ceux qu'il a choisis, ceux qu'il a acquise lui -mme, il dit ce qu'il ne dit pas aux autres - Mon peuple Dans ce mot il y a l'ide de propritaire. D'une manire spciale la portion du Seigneur, c'est son peuple, Jacob est la part de son hritage." Quand il sagit des promesses de scurit et de sret, l'criture les dcrit ainsi: Cinq d'entre vous en poursuivront cent, et cent d'entre vous en poursuivront dix mille ..." Peu de gens vaincront beaucoup, et cette bndiction est devenu ralit pour Isral la fois dans les temps bibliques et dans les temps modernes . Comme on peut le voir, la mathmatique dans ce verset ne tient pas debout. Si 5 peut chasser 100, alors 1 chassera 20. Si c'est ce genre de rapport que Dieu promet, alors 100 Isralites devraient tre capables de vaincre 2000. Pourtant le verset promet plutt que 100 hommes vont chasser 10.000! C'est un rapport de 1 100! La sagesse divine est telle que nous ne pouvons pas comparer l'unit de 5 personnes avec l'unit de 100, mais Dieu nous revle quil y a la force dans l'unit. Et plus nous serons uni, plus nous serons fort. Ensemble nous vaincrons, ensemble nous sommes bnis

Seul Dieu pouvait assurer un tel excdent qui va durer 3 ans. Certes, il est plus logique de croire que la Bible a t crite par Dieu! Maintenant, jetez un oeil votre propre vie. Parfois, il est difficile de croire que Dieu est l, agissant en notre faveur. Mais revenons sur toutes les choses qui sont arrives par hasard pour nous rendre compte que l o nous sommes aujourd'hui provient de lui. Dieu a fait des choses incroyables dans notre vie. C est plus logique de croire que le Matre de l'Univers est la force motrice dans nos vies.

Les Bndictions de l'alliance ne sont pas destins tre regard seulement, mais il faut les approprier. Mme notre Seigneur Jsus nous est donn pour notre usage actuel. Croyant, vous ne faites pas usage de Christ comme vous devriez. Quand vous tes en difficult, pourquoi ne lui dites pas tout votre chagrin? N'est-il pas un cur compatissant, et ne vous peut-il pas rconforter et vous soulager? Non, vous allez voir plutt vos amis au lieu de tout laisser dans le sein de votre Seigneur. tes-vous accabls par les pchs de ce jour? Voici une fontaine remplie de sang: utilisez le saint , utilisez-le. Quand un sentiment de culpabilit retourne vous sur vous? La grce de Jsus pardonnera encore et encore. Venez Lui la fois pour le nettoyage. Avez-vous dplorez votre faiblesse? Il est votre force: pourquoi ne pas se pencher sur lui? Vous sentez-vous nu? Viens me ,couvre toi de la robe de la justice de Jsus.

Et si vous dites: Que mangerons-nous la septime anne? voici, nous ne smera, ni nos rcoltes: Alors je vais commander ma bndiction la sixime anne, et elle donnera des produits pour trois ans. Et vous smerez la huitime anne, et vous mangerez de l'ancienne rcolte jusqu' la neuvime anne, jusqu' la nouvelle rcolte, vous mangerez de l'ancienne.LEVIT25:20-22

Jrmie nous donne une description de deux arbres. Le premier est comme un buisson dans le dsert. Il vit dans le sol dessch et ne prospre pas. Le second arbre est totalement verdoyant: ... un arbre plant prs des eaux qui tend ses racines vers le courant ... ses feuilles sont toujours vertes ... et ne manque jamais de porter ses fruits". Jrmie compare le premier arbre vivant dans le sol dessch une personne qui met sa foi en l'homme au lieu de Dieu. Le second arbre avec des racines solides est la personne qui met toute sa foi en Dieu. Seule la Foi en Dieu peut apporter des bndictions. Quand nous vivons notre vie avec foi, nous serons capables de prosprer en toute circonstance. La foi est l'eau qui nourrit nos racines, notre me, et nous permet de prosprer quelle que soit la situation. Nous sommes reconnaissant pour les biens dans nos vies et nous utilisons nos bndictions bien. Nous comprenons que mme les dfis sont des bndictions, car c'est grce eux que nous grandissons. Le choix est le ntre: nous pouvons nous planter dans un dsert, ou dans les jardins luxuriants de la foi. Tout comme les arbres, c'est l o nous vivons qui dtermine comment nous allons grandir ou prosperer

Pour beaucoup de gens, les vnements de la Bible sont tous simplement incroyable. Ils sont trop incroyable pour tre cru. Pourtant, comme le souligne cette notre verset, l'alternative est tout aussi incroyable. Expliquer la cration du monde, la sortie d'Egypte, la rception de la Bible ,la survie des Isralites dans le dsert et leur conqute ultrieure de la terre promise autrement que par la main divine de Dieu est tout simplement ridicule. Voici l'Ecriture enseigne que nous n'avons pas le droit de travailler la terre d'Isral durant la 7me anne. Alors que mangeront les gens pendant cette anne? Les versets promettent que sur la sixime anne du cycle, il y aura suffisamment de rcoltes produites pour durer trois ans (entre 7me et 9me anne).
