e.g. This is Sarahs bag. we use the possessive s to talk about what belongs to people and sometimes animals, but not things we add an apostrophe to plural nouns that end in s e.g. The students books.

we use possessive adjectives with nouns e.g. We have our books here. Where are yours?
we use that and those to talk about things or people that are not near to us. We are looking at them or we are pointing them. that + sg. noun Those + pl. noun e.g. Thats the bathroom. Do you know those boys?
For things: something/everything Theres something in my shoe. For people: somebody/everybody Theres somebody at the door. For places: somewhere/everywhere He lives somewhere in London. She follows him everywhere. Is everybody here? He doesnt know everything.
For things: anything/nothing There isnt anything in the box. For people: anybody/nobody Is anybody at home? For places: anywhere/nowhere We arent going anywhere. The cats nowhere in the house. Theres nobody in the kitchen. Theres nothing in the box.
