FEDERAL MEMBER FOR FISHER THE HON PETER SLIPPER MP

SLIPPER WITHDRAWS FROM POSSIBLE INVOLVEMENT IN UAP

Federal Member for Fisher, Peter Slipper said he had been invited to join the United Australia Party. Because he believes in political diversity he was prepared to assist the UAP in its bid to obtain registration. I was unaware that any announcement was being made today of my possible involvement with the party and I regret that this occurred without my knowledge. In the circumstances Mr Slipper has decided to withdraw his application for membership and has notified the UAP of his decision. I wish Clive Palmer and the UAP well Mr Slipper said.
