He plays his cards right, lands a job – graveyard

He graduates elaborates on what he’s learned thus far

One mistake keeps him awake as he touches his scar
The same thought, it still haunts, “Why’d I have to get in the car?”

He lives in pain, his arm won’t move, he swallows a pill and says,
Life is Hard.

Problem stack and so do bills, he kills his pain for a while

Then lands in jail, no bucks for bail he says “Unfair trial!”
He’s only innocent to himself cause he’s livin’ in denial
He says he’s happy but looks in the mirror and finds it hard to smile

He blankly stares into the face of the stranger straight ahead and says,
Life is Hard.

He’s now got a check, he pays off his debts

Balancing burdens in his sleep
