AS/NZS 3679.1-300 STRUCTURAL STEELS

Introduction
A readily weldable hot rolled structural steel available in bars and sections for structural and engineering purposes. Available in "commercial" finish. 300PLUS satisfies the requirements of AS/NZS 3679.1-300 grade.

Recommended Heat Treatment Temperatures

Treatment Annealing Normalising Carburising Temperature range C 855-900 890-935 900-925 860-900 Quench Medium Water or Brine 1290 max

Typical Application
General fabrication, structural frame work, grating and transmission tower.
Quenching Forging

Welding
Any electrode type or welding process is satisfactory. For more information please see WTIA Technical Note No 1. Group Number 4.
