Proposal for billboard and magazine adverts

As the brief states that the Navy wants to recruit for every position, we thought to use the unthought-of roles within the Navy for the billboard. We looked on the Royal Navy website, and chose three roles: Dental Officer, Chef and Chaplin. We thought this would grab the audiences attention if they were walking or driving past the billboard as you wouldnt automatically think of these roles in the Navy. We would use these three people as the main focus of the promotional material, and add the logo, slogan and contact details onto the image. For the magazine, we came up with the idea of a gaming style spider diagram coming from two people, with information about the role the person has, if they use any weapons/equipment, what rank they are, their age, their hobbies, and general information to show that you can be anyone and still become part of the Royal Navy. We decided to use the Royal Navy font (Frutiger), a white background with navy text. The main target audience is 16-24 year olds. Most people of this age would own a gaming device of some sort so this design would capture their attention as they could think it is for a new game or something so then they would carry on looking. The directorate of Naval Recruitments target is to recruit 5000 people per year including males, females from all ethnic backgrounds. We would like to show this by having people from different ethnic backgrounds in our promotional print media.
