2013 SPRING CLEAN-UP EVENT

Starting this year we are moving to a Spring Clean-up Coupon system to increase reuse, decrease costs and ensure all residents have the opportunity to participate. Coupons were mailed this week entitling you to take one load of spring clean-up items to the Gibsons Recycling Depot FOR FREE. Instead of having one day to clean out your house and yard you will have three months to take advantage of this service. Coupons are effective from June 1st to August 31st, 2013. This enables all residents to take advantage of the program. With the new program less waste will go to the landfill and more discards will be reused.

WHAT can I drop off?

Each household is limited to one truck load containing up to 450 kgs of acceptable items. A list of restricted items will be printed on the back of the coupon. Restricted items include: NO Gypsum NO Freon (e.g. fridges, air conditioners etc) NO Treated wood NO Vinyl/duroid/metal roofing etc. NO Bulk items (e.g. boats) NO Oil tanks NO Windows or doors NO Fish net NO REGULAR GARBAGE

DONT HAVE A TRUCK OR VEHICLE?

Gibsons Recycling Depot has offered to assist those residents who are unable to get their items to the Depot at a cost of $20 per load, payable at the time of pickup. Call (604-740-1425) anytime to arrange transportation for your truck load. Pickup will be scheduled for Saturdays only from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Make sure you have your items at the curb before 9 a.m.

Are you a Tenant? DIDNT get a Coupon?

Do you live n the Town of Gibsons as a tenant. Coupons were mailed to homeowners, therefore renters with offcoast landlords may not receive a coupon. Come to the Town Hall at 474 South Fletcher Road and bring proof of residency; staff will make sure you get a Coupon. Proof of residency could be a drivers licence, utility bill with your name on it etc. Be sure it has your residential address on it.
