CareerExplorations12willconsistofstudentscompletingaminimumof100hoursofpaidorvolunteerwork experience,trainingtopreparethemforthecourse,workshops,fieldtrips,postsecondaryvisits,and curriculumwork.WorkExperienceplacementsinthecommunitycanbeschoolarranged,studentarranged oracombinationofthetwo.Studentswillberequiredtocompleteapproximately20hoursofpaperwork thatsupportstheprogramincluding,butnotlimitedto:jobapplication,resume,coverletters,jobinterview, reflectivelearning,andworkexperienceevaluationalongwiththepaperworkforthePortfolioaspectsand criteriathathavebeenachievedthroughtheirexperience. StudentExpectations 1. Eachstudentisresponsibleformaintainingcontactwithhisorherteacheronaweeklybasis.This canbethroughsendinganemail,phoning,orvisitingyourteacher. 2. Remembertoemailifyouhavequestions,buttoberespectfulandclearwhenyoucorrespondwith yourteacher. 3. Properworkethicandbehaviourisessentialwhenrepresentingyourselfandtheschoolatyour workplacement.
