PUBLICATION (REPUBLICA) AWARDS
In accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (R.A) No. 7722, otherwise known
{as the “Higher Education Act of 1994”, for the purpose of promotingientrancing the research
function of higher education institutions and pursuant to CEB Resolution No. 19 Series of
‘2000, CHED hereby issues the Revised Guidelines for the CHED REPUBLICA AWARDS
|. RATIONALE AND OBJECTIVES
The role of research cannot be over emphasized. Research as an acedemic function
differentiates higher education from basic education. The academe has traditionally
been one of the mejor sources of knowledge and innovations mainly because of the
research activities of university facullyresearchers.
‘The CHED REPUBLICA Awards are offered biennially to recognize and reward
outstanding research outputs leading fo signiicant advances in prionty disciplines. and
contributing to national development
Il. AWARDS AND INCENTIVES,
A total of thity four (34) awards are open at the regional and national levels under two
major discipline cluster categories.

A. Eligibility Criteria
‘The riumber of national winners may be increased upon recommendation of the National
‘Awards Board in case: 1) some of the regional avard siots are not utilized, resulting in
cash prize savings; and 2) there are excellent entries. that deserve recognition through
the award.
+ The award is open to Filipino facully researchers of Phiippine Higher
Education Insitutions (HEIs), public and private
‘+ Each HEhcenrmominate four (4) reseaich outputs.” >

= Two for Social Sciences, Economics, Education and Humanities:
‘The nominated entries must have been undertaken mainly in the Philippines

1. Obtain @ nomination form “from the CHED Regional Office (RO) or download from
‘ips! wa ched.gov oh (under "What's New)
2. Submit to the CHED Regional Office the accomplished nomination form in five (5)
Copies together with the folowing:
2.1. nomination letter indicating -how the publication(s) meet(s) the award
citeria
2.2, endorsement ofthe President of nominating HEt;
23. narrative summary of research (not more than 6 pages including tables and
figures) ‘
2.4. good quality photocdpes or reprints of nominated research publcaton(s)
3. Evaluation Committees are organized by the Commission at the regional and national
levels with composition and Terms of Reference (TOR) as follows:
