use

10 different layers allow you to stack objects to enhance teaching.

It is really easy to make a picture or object
transparent. Click on the object and use the
slider to make it disappear.
Put an old map on a new one and magically re-
veal it. Stack two photos of a person at different
ages and move from one to the other to spot the
differences, Slide to reveal a previously transpar-
ent answer, change a diagram into a photo of an
experiment.. Make a sound file transparent and
lock it to an object so it plays the sound when
you click on the object. Use the transparency
tool to turn a picture into a great background for
a page. (remember to lock it!)
Magic ink
You can use magic ink to make a top
layer disappear.
Find an object like a picture, photo, spell-
ing word, a label from a diagram. Choose
the pen tool and colour over the item.
When you want to show to object, use
the magic ink tool. You can reveal a little
at a time to give clues, or lots to reveal if
an answer was right or wrong.
Try rubbing out one photo on top of
another to reveal it, or rub out a picture
to reveal a word. Rub out the star shape
on top of a photo to reveal star of the
week. (remember you can only rub out
things on the top layer.

Clever colour use
There are lots of ways to use colour creatively. White text on a white page
does not show until it is placed on a background of a different colour. Type
in a question and an answer. Make the answer the same colour as your
background. Keep the question visible. Now all you can see is the question.
Add a coloured box on the page, and now you can drag your sentence on
the box to reveal the answer. You need to make sure the box is the bottom
layer.. Use this technique to reveal what a word means, maths answers,
make a random name picker, reveal homework,
Or…
Make a black box. Lock it to the page. Type some questions into separate
text boxes. Put the questions on the black box. No-one can see them, so
you can magically pull them out when you want to. Use this to label dia-
grams, categorise facts into true and false, move numbers to the correct
sum, add items to a Venn diagram...
