1.1AbbreviatedOperatingProcedures
Step1:Installthedeviceandpoweritup. Step 2: Enroll users by registering his/her fingerprints, passwords or card. Assign users securityprivilegesdirectlyonthedevice. Step3: After enrolling users, verify thathis/her enrolled fingerprint, passwords or cardis valid. Step 4: Configure the device communication settings. Then download the users newlyenrolledinformationfrom thedeviceonto the Attendance Managementonthe computer.DatacanbetransmittedviaTCP/IP,RS232,RS485andUSBclientorby usingaUSBflashdrive. Step5:ModifyusersinformationintheAttendanceManagement,anduploadthis newlyinformationtothedeviceafterconnected.Thentheusersnewlyinformation willbedisplayedonthescreenuponattendance.(Somemodelsallowdirectly name editionand other operation on thedevice. Therefore,it is no necessary to connect device.) Step6:Verifythe devicedisplaysthecorrectdayandtime.Thenstarttoattendance. Step7:DownloadattendancerecordstotheAttendanceManagementandstatthem attheendofthemonth.

1.3Aboutattendance Whenthedeviceisinstandbystatus,onlyaftersuccessfulfingerprintorpassword verification,canusersaveattendancerecordonthedevice. Standbystatus Asshownbelow:
Thepicturedisplayedinstandbystatuscanbepictureuploadedbyuser(refer to upload userdefined picture). It can also be time displayrefer to 4.5 interface option Selectattendancestate 1 mode1 When the device is in standby status, press state key on the device to modify attendance state, and the state information will be displayed on the screen. The current selected state is displayed in orange. Press ESC, the promptinformationwilldisappear.Referto 4.4keyboarddefinition fordefault statekeydefinition.

21:1fingerprintmatchUserIDfingerprint Verify the fingerprint pressed on the sensor at present with the fingerprint related with user number. Use this method when it is difficult to identify users fingerprint. Step1: InputUserIDofemployeetobeverifiedontheinitializinginterface.
Step2: Pressfingerprintproperlyonthesensor. Step3: IfthedevicesaysThankyou,theverificationiscomplete.
IfthedevicesaysPleasepressagain,returnStep2forsecondoperation.
Employeecantryanother2timesbydefault.Therepeatedtimescanbesetin 4.5interfaceoption.Ifitfailsafter2times,returnStep1forsecondoperation. l Password Matching
Step1:InputUserIDofemployeetobeverifiedontheinitializinginterface.Then press OK. Step 2: If it says that the enroll number is wrong, it means that there is no such numberortheemployeedoesntenrollpassword.
Step3:Inputpasswordwhentheinterfaceappears.
Step4:IfthedevicesaysThankyou,theverificationiscomplete.
Whenthedevicesayspassworderror,pleaseinputpasswordagain.
Employeecantryanother2timesbydefault.Therepeatedtimescanbesetin 4.5interfaceoption.Ifitfailsafter2times,returnStep1forsecondoperation.
CardMatching
Step1:wavethecardneartheinductionarea,aftertheinductionequipmentfindthe card,removethecardagain. Step2:Whentheequipmentgiveusatip,"Thankyou",thecertificationcompleted.
Step3:Ifthecardhasnotregisteredyet,promptthatcardisnotregistered
Note: The card area in some devices is round the fingerprint sensor and othersareroundthekeyboard.

1.4 ConnectionwithPC The device only records attendance time. The statement can be disposed by software on PC. Therefore, it is necessary for device to connect PC to download attendancerecordtoattendancesoftware. Thefollowingaresomeconnectionmethod:
Ethernet:
1Through hub: Use parallel net cable (to connect network card and hub) to connectdeviceintothenetwork. 2 Directconnection:usecrossnetcable connecttwoEthernetterminalsdirectly toconnect deviceandPC. Set device:entermenuoption communication optiontosetthe following items: IPaddress:DefaultIPas192.168.1.201.Youcanmodifyitifitisnecessary. Subnet mask: Default subnet mask as 255.255.255.0. You can modify it if it is necessary. Gateway address: Default gateway address0.0.0.0. You can modify it if it is necessary. Networkspeed: Therearethreeoptions:ATUO,10M,and100M. Connection password: It can be set or not set. If it is set, input corresponding numericalvalueonconnectioninterfaceofPCsoftware. l
RS232: UseRS232serialportwireforconnection.
Set device:Enter menuoption communication option to set the following options: baudrate: Communicationspeedrate(withcomputer),ifthecommunicationspeedis high,RS232 115200,57600isrecommended. RS232:SelectYesforRS232.

Communication password:It can beset or not set. If itis set,input corresponding numericalvalueonconnectioninterfaceofPCsoftware.

set device: Enter menucommunicationoption tosetthefollowingoptions: DeviceID: 1254 baudrate: Communicationspeedrate(withcomputer),if thecommunicationspeedis lowandstable,RS485 9600,,38400isrecommended. RS485:SelectYesforRS485 Communication password:It can beset or not set. If itis set,input corresponding numericalvalueonconnectioninterfaceofPCsoftware.
USB
Setdevice:enter menucommunicationoption tosetthefollowingitems: DeviceID:setitinconnectionoption.Thenumbercanbeselectedfrom1254. USB:SelectYesforUSBcommunication. Communicationpassword:setitinconnectionoption.Itcanbesetornotset.Ifit is set, input corresponding numerical value on connection interface of PCsoftware.

1.5 Mainmenu StartattheCheck/ClockInscreen.PresstheMenukeytoopentheMainMenu,as showninthefollowingfigure:
User management: Browse the users basic information like ID, name, fingerprint, card, password and privilege and so on Increase, edit or delete operation the basic information Set the work code for user and card management. Connection: Set up communication parameters between the equipment and thePC,includingIPaddress,gateway,subnetmask,baudrate,devicenumber, communicationspasswordetc. System: Manage the data and set the system parameters, including basic parameters, interface parameters, fingerprint and attendance parameters, to maximizemeetusersneedsinthefunctional,displayandotherareas. Date/Time: Device time date should set accurate to ensure the accurate attendancetime. PenDrive:ByUSB,theuserinfoandattendancedataetc.canbeimportedto the accordingly software to deal or import the user information for other fingerprintdevices to use. AutoTest: automaticallytestthefunctionofeachmoduleifitisworkable,

includingthescreen,sensor,voice,keyboardandclocktests. Attlog: For query the recordsaved inthe device convenience,query record functionisprovided. SysInfo:Use systeminformationtocheckthecurrentdevicessavingstatus, itsversioninformationandsoon.

Theusersbasicinformationonthedeviceincludesfingerprint,passwordand managementaccess.Incompanysattendancemanagement,foremployeeschange, the information on the device also needs modification. Therefore, operations includingadd,delete,check,modifyandsooncanbedoneonthedevice.
2.1 Addanewuser
Firstly,enrollemployeesfingerprintorpasswordinthedevice. EnterNewuser interface:

AC.NO:Staff'sattendancenumber. Name: InputusersnamewithT9inputmethod. FP (Fingerprint): enroll employees fingerprint. Ten fingerprints can be enrolledatmost. The employee with fingerprint enrolled can use fingerprint to record attendance. PWD (Enroll password): enroll users password. The effective digit is18. Theemployeewithpasswordenrolledcanusepasswordtorecordattendance. Card: Registered staff's Card, only the registered card is possible to check attendance. Save/exituserregistration To confirm the registration information is correct, after getting confirmation, saveit. Thewayforsaving: 1) scroll /key to locate cursor on the "completes ( )"button, please press"OK"keyagain,theprompt"thedatahasbeenchanged,Areyousuretosave it?ontheequipment,press"OK"thekeytosaveit,ifyoudonotwantsaving,press "ESC" to exit. If the prompt, Save successfully! 2.2Manageuser
All users information saved in the current device can be queried in manage user,including user name, fingerprint count, whetherto enroll password or card, userattendancerecordandsoon. Editingordeletingusercanalsobedonehere.

If thereis no suchemployee, no enrolled datawillappear. 2.2.2 Queryattendancerecord When administrator is checking employees fingerprint and other enrolled information, he can also check the employees attendance record during that month. Press menu on manage user interface to get the operating menu, select record, andtheemployeesmonthlyattendancerecordcanbechecked:

ThenpressESCtoreturnto manageuser interface. 2.2.3 Edituser Edit user information saved in the device. For example, the former enrolled fingerprints are unusable, enter edit user to reenroll fingerprint, password or 22
card. Use/orqueryuseronmanageuserinterfacetoselectemployeetobe edited. Then press menu to select edit or press shortcut to verify it, and all enrolledinformationcanbedisplayedonthedevice:

2.3 Workcode
Salaryisbasedonattendance.Therearemanyworktypesforemployees.An employee may have different work type in different time period. Different work types have different pays. Therefore, in order to distinguish different attendance states when user is dealing with attendance data, the device has provided a parametertomarkwhichattendancerecordbelongstowhichworktype. Operation

2.4.2Enrollfingerprintcard Enrollfingerprintandwritefingerprintintocard. Operation 1.Enrollment Step1: Selectenrollfingerprintcard andpress OK.
Step 2:Use keyboard to input the number to be enrolledif the number has been there already, the device will prompt you to copy the information to the card.,andthenpressOK.Thedevicewillpromptyoutomoveoffyour finger.

Step3:Pressfingerproperlythreetimes. Step4:Devicepromptspleaseshowcard.
Step5:Putthecardintheinductionarea,waitingforthedevicetoreadfingerprint dataintocarduntiltheenrollmentsucceeds. 2. Verification: Swaythecardintheinductionarea.Afterthedeviceinductsthecard,movethe card off. When the verification is successful, the device will give prompt. If the pressedfingerprintisdifferentfromthatstoredinthecard,theverificationwillfail.

2.4.3Clearcardinformation Deletealltheinformationinthecardbeingoperatedatpresent. Operation
Putthecardintheinductionarea,waitingfordevicetodeletealltheinformation inthecard.Ifthecarddatahasbeenstoredinthedevice,thedevicewillremindyou whethertodeletetheinformationinthedeviceornot.Yesistodeletetheusers fingerprintandinformationinthedevice.Noistokeeptheinformation. 2.4.4Copycardinformation Copy card information to the deviceafter copy, the fingerprint is still in the card,then press fingerprint attendance directly on the device, with no need of usingMifarecard. Operation

2.4.5Setcardparametervalue SetpasswordofMifarecardanddecidewhethertheinformationshouldbesaved ornot. Fingerprintcardpassword: Afterthepasswordisset,thedevicewillwritepassword intotheenrolledfingerprintcard.Thenthefingerprintcardcanonly 33

2.5 AccessControlOption
Access control option is to set users open door time zone, control lock and relateddevicesparameters. If the device support external facial instrument, it cannotsupport the camera andadvanced accesscontrolatthesametime. Tounlock,theenrolleduser mustaccordwiththefollowingconditions: 1.Thecurrentunlocktimeshouldbeintheeffectivetimeofusertimezoneor groupzone. 2. The group where user is must be in access control (or in the same access controlwithothergroup,toopenthedoortogether). Thesystemdefaultthenewenrolleduserasthefirstgroup,defaultgrouptime zoneas1,accesscontrolasthefirstgroup,andthenewenrolleduserisinunlock(if user has modifiedtherelatedsetting ofaccess control,thesystem will be changed withusersmodification) . Operation: Press Menu>UserManagement > AccessSetting asshownbelow

2.5.1TimeZoneSetting
Timezoneistheminimumunitofaccesscontroloption.Thewholesystemcan define50timezones.Everytimezonedefinesseventimesections(namely,aweek). Everytimesectionistheeffectivetimezonewithin24hourseveryday.Everyuser canset3timezones,orexistsamongthethreezones.Itiseffectiveifonlyoneis satisfied. Every time section format is HH:MMHH:MM, namely, accurate to minute.
