ABSTRACT

A STUDY ON THE EFFFECTIVENESS OF DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO HYKON INDIA LTD.
The project was undertaken in Hykon India Pvt Ltd, Thrissur in order to understand effectiveness of distribution channel with special reference to Hykon India ltd. The purpose is analyzing the distribution channel is to diagnose the problem in distribution channel. The duration of the project was 21 days (21-08 2012 12-09-2012). Hykon India private ltd is a private company situated in Thrissur.

The study is based on the primary data collected through questionnaire. The data is collected from 20 dealers and 40 retailers of the Hykon India ltd. And the data is analysed with the help statistical data . The study has many limitation also because duration was short , and also there may be bias in the data.

Findings from the study are 50% of the dealers says that the company never support in the transportation . The majority of the dealers and retailers are not satisfied with the current credit facility offered by the company. The suggestion given to the company has to spend more money on the promotional activities that will be help to attract the more dealers . The company has to provide more time duration for the credit facility to the dealers also increase the time duration for the credit facility to the retailers.

To conclude this project work helps the management to assess the decision to effective distribution channel and it is possible to make relevant changes in the existing distribution system on the basis of finding and suggestions of the study.
