Fieldwork- Observing individual students and possible reasons for misbehavior One student that acted out was

Treyton. He would begin to throw fits when he was forced to do something he didnt want to or when he was struggling with a specific concept. He would give a blank stare many times when he no longer wanted to try. Mrs. Aeschliman and I discussed what the problem could be and his family says they have gone to a doctor and he has autism. She and I both disagree with that diagnosis. Nothing that he does or does not do seems to indicate autism. He does struggle with number sense and writing out words correctly, but that seems more of dyslexia. Mrs. Aeschlimans opinion is that because he does struggle, his family does everything for him because it is easier and faster for them instead of encouraging him to get things done independently. Like I said before, when he is done with trying, he normally begins to throw a fit, and at school that is not acceptable and he is quickly reminded of that fact and then he will begin to try once again. That behavior indicates that when he begins to cry at home his family succumbs to his wants and allows him to stop trying.
