PROBLEM DEFINITION
To develop a software for mobile handset which can identify the location of user using google map.

ABSTRACT
Location and maps-based apps offer a compelling experience on mobile devices.These capabilities can be built into app using the classes of the android.location package and the Google Maps Android API Most . With the Google Maps Android API, we can add maps to app that are based on Google Maps data. The API automatically handles access to Google Maps servers, data downloading, map display, and touch gestures on the map. API calls can be used to add markers, polygons and overlays, and to change the user's view of a particular map area.

Functional Requirements
User should be able to receive correct geographic location information. Register/unregister for periodic updates of the user's current location from a location provider.

Non Functional Requirements


24 X 7 availability Better component design to get better performance at peak time Flexible service based architecture will be highly desirable for future extension
