Douglas:

Alright, lets make a start. Can someone volunteer to take the

minutes?
I will.
Thanks, Harvey. Now the agenda isnt a long one. We need to
prepare for this presentation with Silver Heaven tomorrow.
Caroline has just got back from Brisbane so shes been out of
the loop on this issue.
Harvey and Victoria will bring us up to scratch on what they
know about Lian and Lok Lee. Then well work out what needs
to be done and wholl do what.
Harvey would you like to start by filling us in on what you know about the Lees intentions?

Harvey: Sure.

Its Mrs Lee, Lian, whos pushing to extend their

distribution to Australia

Victoria:

Lok Lee just wants a holiday.

Douglas:

Thanks, Victoria Lets hear Harvey out first.

Harvey:

Their main purpose doesnt seem to be for financial gain. Lian wants to expand to give her
children more responsibility.
She said theyre all ambitious and the business is too small for
them as it is.

Douglas:

So youre saying that its family rather than money, thats their main concern?

Harvey:

It would seem so, yes.

(VICTORIA GIVES A TINY COUGH)

Douglas:

Victoria, you have something to add?

Victoria:

Yes. Its their youngest son that Lians really worried about.
He clashes with his older brother and hes threatening to
leave the estate for good.. Lian feels that if they go
international, shell be giving him a chance to travel and keep
him within the company..

Douglas:

Youve really done your homework, Victoria.

Victoria (SMUG):

Thank you, Douglas. I did some research on the weekend.

L1 F:

Douglas:
approach?
L1 M:

Were running a little over time. Can we move on? Harvey, what would be the best

Harvey:

Well, theyll want to know how well present their product. Theres not enough time to produce
an advertising layout, so weve decided to show them what we did with Suki Tofu. Victoria
and I have worked on an outline of how the presentation should go.

L1 M:

Suki Tofu

Victoria:
L1 F:

VIctoria:

A meeting.

L1 F:

Victoria:
L1 F:

Can I say something here?

Douglas:
L1 M:

Victoria.

Victoria:

I think that we should also indicate that Lians son will be invited to our national conferences.
It might be a selling point.

L1 F:

Caroline:
L1 F:

Yes, I agree, but perhaps dont mention her son. Thats privileged information, isnt it?

?
Victoria:
L1 F:

Good point. Thanks, Ill just say, your representative.

Douglas:

Well, everything seems to be under control. Harvey and Victoria, youll give the presentation.
Caroline, will you be there?

L1 M:

Caroline:
L1 F:

Yes.

Douglas:
L1 M:

I dont see any need for me to be come.

Harvey:

Excuse me, Douglas, but Im not so sure about that. I think your absence might be
considered a slight. Especially if they notice youre still in your office.

L1 M:

Douglas:

Youve got a point there, Harvey. We dont want to cause offence. All right then. We seem
to have covered everything. Thanks for your contributions. We can finish there.
