    HADI KUSUMOWANTO COMPETENCY OF NURSE BASIC LIVE SUPPORT IN BALUNG JEMBER REGIONAL HOSPITAL EAST JAVA. 41 pages + 8 tables + 3 schemes + 7 attachments Abstract Background. Nurse which has an important role because directly related to Nursing Care providers, must has the competence, one of which was the provision of Basic Life Support. The purpose of this study was to determine the nurse competency to Basic Live Support action in the Balung Jember Regional Hospital East Java, which includes the release of the airways (airway), the provision of ventilation and oxygenation (breathing), and the provision of artificial circulation with compression (circulation). Research Method. The study using descriptive method. Sampling using purposive sampling technique, total sample were 30 respondents. Results. Competency of nurse Basic Life Support action in the Balung Jember Regional Hospital categorized competent include; airway action 30 respondents (42.9%), breathing 17 respondents (24.3%), and circulation action 18 respondents (25.7%). Conclusion. Competency of Basic Life Support action which include: airway, breathing, circulation, nurse of Balung Jember Regional Hospital many were not competent (75.7%).
