My experience has granted me the ability to provide tools for others find their success. For this reason, I am most fulfilled when I am learning and working with young people. My work requires deep and significant meaning to the greater good, making a home for me in education. I teach because I think education is the most powerful weapon in our fight to alleviate ignorance, oppression, poverty, and discrimination. I teach to better equip our countrys young leaders with the skills to make this a more just, equitable, and loving world. My strengths as a teacher pivot on my relationships with students. My teaching style is student-centered and interactive. My authentic nature with students creates a respectful space for meaningful and thoughtful classroom discussions. My rich experiences in project-based, experiential learning at valuedriven schools have provided me the opportunity to develop expertise in accommodating classrooms which require individualized differentiated learning. My optimism, solution-seeking nature, and asset-based community development work allows me to set a positive, consistent classroom environment where students feel safe, supported, and successful. My learning communities value diversity, open-mindedness, assertive communication, and cooperation in order to achieve higher learning goals and exploration. By nurturing individual leadership strengths, I help students to build personal and academic confidence which result in risk-taking and active participation in group work, class discussions, and presentations. By designing creative lessons and relevant assessments that promote hands-on participation, social interaction, and critical thought, I am able to make the learning experience meaningful and relevant to the lives of our students.
