Statement of the problem In the scenario some organization are being wiped out of the market due to lack

of efficiency in managing finance .To be able to prevent in the market organization has to evaluated its financial performance periodically .In contest an attempt has been made to assess the financial performance of the selected private &public banks. Objectives To high light the financial strengths & weaknesses of selected banks To evaluate the performance of the selected banks Scope To learn about origin growth &development of the Indian banking industry. To understand the financial performance of selected public & private banks. To know the role of selected banks in the development of Indian banking industry. Methodology The research methodology of the study is given following Source of data Study based on secondary data the source of data consist of Financial statement of selected bank News paper, journals & other publication Related website Sample unit At present huge no of banks are engaged in banking service in India. In that only four banks are taken into consideration for the purpose of evaluating the financial performance of the banking industry .of these two banks are private &two are public sector .the sample size is taken as 4 years in which the financial statement is prepared &analyzed.

Method of analysis 1. Ratio analysis 2. Fund flow statement analysis ratio Limitations The scope of the study is limited to four banks only There is no rational in samples Lay out of the chapters Chapter 1-Introduction This chapter deals with introduction to the research topic &highlights importance of the topic. Chapter 2-Reserch design The chapter consist research methodology ,research process, research design, sampling design, metod of data collection, method of data analysis &limitation of the study. Chapter 3-Profile The profile banking industry &selected banks. Chapter 4-Analysis of data collected The content of this chapter are the analysis of the financial performance of the selected banks. Chapter 5-findings&suggestions Study of findings, suggestion& conclusion are given this chapter.
