Goodbye Song Clap your hands Spin around Jump up high Ok!

Clap your hands Sit down Stand up 1,2,3,4 Goodbye, goodbye, see you again Goodbye, goodbye, see you my friends Goodbye, goodbye, I had fun today I had fun today Stomp your feet Shake your body Stand still Ok! Stomp your feet Turn left Turn right 1,2,3,4 Goodbye, goodbye, see you again Goodbye, goodbye, see you my friends Goodbye, goodbye, I had fun today I had fun today, I had fun today I had fun today Goodbye!

For example, when the class starts I say, stand up! and do the action. The students follow my action, and I encourage them to say stand up. Next I do the same with sit down, and clap your hands. Even if this is the first lesson for the student, they have already learned some important phrases. At the end of the class, before we sing the song, I have the students repeat the lyrics, line by line, after me. I use hand gestures to teach the meaning, but if they dont understand I translate the lyrics for them. You could also use flash cards. I think it is very important that the students understand what they are singing. When we sing the song, the students do the actions, and sing. I also use actions for the Goodbye, see you again part. See below (photos coming soon): Goodbye, goodbye, see you again: Wave both hands left to right while singing goodbye. See (point to eyes) you (point at others) again (thumbs up!). Goodbye, goodbye, see you my friends: Again, wave both hands left to right while singing goodbye. See (point to eyes) you (point at others) my friends (hands across your chest like you are hugging yourself). Goodbye, goodbye, I had fun today: Wave both hands left to right during the goodbye part. I had fun today (raise hands high in the air and move up and down as if in celebration).
