Solve this system of equations:

x=4
2 x − 3 y = −19

A (4, 9)
B (4, -9)
C (4, -7.5) Solution:
D (9, 4) Substituting the 1st equation into the 2nd equation
yields:
2 x − 3 y = −19
2 ( 4 ) − 3 y = −19
8 − 3 y = −19
−3 y = −27
y=9

Therefore the solution is (x, y) = (4, 9)
