The brief: I have created a 3 minute or near composition using the music techniques given to me as guide lines. These include: -Harmony -Melody -Chord progression -Base line

Instruments/Voices/Sounds used including details of computer or programmable features Intruments- Piano, acoustic guitar, bass, drums and violin. I also used garage band to complete my composition work.

Structure, style and mood My introduction in my composition starts of with just the piano and symbol. It then gradually builds up with another piano, drums and bass. The verse then has a melody played by an acoustic guitar. Once it gets to the refrain, All the instruments stop except for the piano and symbol. It then builds up with the drums and all the instruments restart, adding the violin. This repeats again. The style and mood is quite happy and cheerful, Reminding you of the summer days and the good times youve had.

The process of composing I first came up with the piano parts of my composition at home, while composing my own song. I was unable to match the song with any lyrics so I decided it would be a good idea to use it for my unit. I then recorded it on garage band and added each instrument in, bit by bit, using the same or similar notes in each. Self appraisal I believe I have completed my composition to the highest standard I can. I have used my ability to use the piano and computer and I have used the knowledge I have learnt and developed to complete it and have worked hard to earn a pass, merit or even a distinction.
