Data flow Diagram(DFD) It means a graphical technique that depicts information flow and transforms that are applied as data move from input to output. It is also called bubble chart.DFD is used to represent the flow of information

DFD can be used as the starting point of design phase. There are different levels in DFD. Level 0 is the fundamental level of DFD. Additional process and information flown part are represented in next level i.e. Level 1

Any process that are complex in level 1 will be further represented in level 2. Data flow diagram is represented by symbols.DFD is the basis of structured system analysis. The purpose of DFD is to provide a semantic bridge between user and system developers.

Components of DFD
These are the four that are used in drawing DFD. *Entity

Entity represent the sources of data that are enter the system or the recipients of data that leave the system * Process

Process represents activities in which data is manipulated by stored or retrieved or transformed in some way. A circle represent it. The process will show the data transformation or change.

* Data store

Databases represent storage Of data within the system.

* Data flow

A data flow show the flow information from its source to its destination. A line represents a data flow, with arrowheads shows the direction of flow.
